stock seat cowl made from glas fibre

I had a phone call this morning with the seat cover boy.

FYI I couldn´t help but complain of the stock seat cowling´s fragility.
I´m having my 3rd seat cowl now within 5 years
and also this one keeps cracking up already.
It´s quite an effort to actually to find and buy a new one
if they are available at all with the Honda dealership....

To my astonishment "our" man for the seat covers
had a glas fibre seat cowl made for his own use many years ago.
Everyone of you who follows the "Monoposto" section may have seen this one already. That cowl sitting on the green Hawk there!

Our man said glas fibre beats the cheapo type of a Honda cowl by far:
it doesn´t crack up or has the mounting tabs breaking off.

His stock seat cowl has a closed rear light tail section
that requires some minor saw work to get the stock light fit in.
Or something better than the stock light. Or an under tail light. Whatever.

As for my part I would want to order a new seat cowl for myself.
Is there anyone out there who might come along with me?
I hope I could convince him into making a small edition of seat cowls.

    i would

also fab cheak the rubber gromits on the bottom of your seat. those fall apart with age, and when they do the seat sits on the subframe a little lower and puts pressure on the cowling. when mine fell off the cowl didnt last 6 months after that.

It is so, so wrong to tempt us this way!!! Wrong!

What's the asking price for each cowl, for a bulk order?

I'm interested, even if I have to sell my plasma! The stock seat cowl I have now is missing 1 whole tab and two others are held onto the rubber gromets with safety wire, needless to say my fancy new GFK Sitzbankabdeckung doesn't line up with the cowl

            Any idea on cost?

Thanks for the prompt support, brothers and sister

He gave me a good price quote!!!! 75.- EUR,
well that should be less than $100.-! Maybe $95.-
Depends....the exchange rates are pretty volatile.

The manufacturer knows we are reliable customers
              and he knows too
he owes you and me a favour for the seat covers as well.

I ordered one cowl for me and my brother.
I´ll shoot some pics for you when I have them, ok?
              Next week, I think.

              As for shipping...
we might save up about 50% on the postage if one of you
would do that middleman/woman thing for a second cowl.
              ...just as Doug suggested.
I would pack up every cowl in a single box, of course....

I'm sure some of us would be willing to play middle man, lets see who's interested and where we're located to find the actual "middle"

A question has arisen about the tabs/mounting holes Fabian.

Might this offering have all the tabs for mounting in the casting?

                              Thanks
