    RC31 / NC25 - Meeting 2007 in Europe / Germany

Invitation to the 8th Honda Hawk GT and Bros meeting Pegestorf, Germany

    14-16 September 2007

    Dear Hawk and Bros owners,

Traditionally the biannual international Hawkmeeting will take place in September. As usual it will be a very relaxed setup where people with at least one mutual interest have ample opportunity to exchange tall stories with grilled food and drink at very reasonable rates.

The invitations have been sent to the known Hawkers, with thanks to Dirk for his efforts.

It is an event NOT to miss, bring along your Hawk / Bros (RC 31 and NC25) , a good mood and some good weather.

Location: Braai-Place / Sport-Field D 37619 Pegestorf (centre of the universe), where you can put up your tent, toilet and shower facilities available.

    Program:
Friday 14th : arrival, put up your tent, grilled food, campfire, drinks and good company
Saturday 15th : breakfast, mutual rideout through the very scenic area
: food and drink at night
Sunday 16th : breakfast and departure

Rates: € 9,- per biker, € 4,- for the pillion, no extra fee for the tent . Breakfast per person per day € 3,- . Other food and drink not included, but very reasonable rates. Do bring along cups and cutlery. Preferably not discardable.

Please confirm your participation before August 1st by sending an e-mail to [email protected] . State the day of arrival and departure, with or without pillion, with or without breakfast. And wire the amount due to Bankaccountnr: 27.604.214 BLZ.: 25050000 Nord/LB Holzminden, Germany. Pegestorf is about 250 miles / 400km from the Dutch / German border. Look for Holzminden at www.map24.com

When you receive this invitation and don’t own a Hawk / Bros anymore or if you are not interested in these meetings, please respond to the same mail address and your name will be removed.

We hope to see you in Pegestorf and wish you smooth travels.

    Best regards,

    Andreas Thiele
    Dirk

    Question :
There is a small possibility to join you up in Germany for the meeting . But with work one can never be certain. Will it be possible to pay the price including pillion and breakfast when I get there (If I come that is ). Will the there be some kind of paying for the last minute arrivals ???

    Thanks , Spiros

Athens to Holzminden . But I think it counts the sea distance . If I decide to make this trip I will go to venice by boat abd then all the way to germany .

Only 400 km away and having second thoughts ????

In the states if you google map a route to europe it will direct you to the easternmost point of land and then tell you to swim 3000 miles!

Tried Map 24 once more starting from Venice and to Holzminden is 1100 km which is 2 days ride the gf on the Bros

Plan is to leave from Athens and head to Patras on Tuesday 11/9 and catch the 23.59 boat . It arrives in Venice on Thursday at 07.00 which is very convinient because I will have planty of day light to ride .Calculating an average speed of 100 km/h means that there is a possibility that I can be in Holzminden before midnight . But that would be really painfull because after 100 km we need about 20 min rest .So I think I will take it slowly and spend Thursday's night somewhere near Munchen or somethig like that .And Friday there we are

It's not the bike or my bottom that I'm worried about . Although my girlfriend has come with me for short rides (max 550 km daily ) I 'm afraid it will be hard for hed on foreign ground . Plus she will have to buy waterproof gear and boots which she will never probably have to use ever again . Another problem is that my summer vacation finishes at Sept 4 and I will be hard to leave work again only after a few days later . Last and bigger problem is money . I don't expect the trip in full to cost more than 1500 euros top . It's not much but it's an amount of money that could serve other purposes ...

We 'll see .For the time being leave that hat alone Swipe

                    ANy of you coming ????

I was riding in a road i had never been before . At a strange turn begun a seperate line of trees and I thought I had enter a one way street . So I went to the left side of the road to pass over a slow truck . And then I saw A mercedes coming straight at me . Pushed the brakes and made a little to the right . My front rim hit the car' s rear tire and the forks bent . I stood up at once and realised I was ok . Of course I had my helmet on and leather jacket and jeans . Bad news is that the forks can not be repaired and i 'm looking for a new cheap stock set . I really don't mind . Only thinking that that crash could have been the end of me , makes the money I'm gonna spend repairing the bike have no significance .
