Huge bike meet, Friday, July 13

    Port Dover, Ontario

this is a truly unforgetable event................over 100,000 bikes take over a small, lakeside village (normal pop. about 1500) for one glorious day.

it's just like Daytona bike week, only Canadian.

US riders will see stuff never imported here, amazing things!!

the collectors usually bring out their best, and except for whatever drinking you might choose to do, IT'S ALL FREE!!!!! (and no schlock vendors!)

Canadians know how to party, and the rural roads nearby are great; so consider attending if you are able.

    (overnight camping available.)

Port Dover is located on north shore of lake Erie, about 100 miles west of Buffalo, ny.

Im going to bring my digital camera to post a few pics. Squirrelman is not exaggerating the numbers either. They shut the whole town down to cars. Only bikes are allowed in. The last few events have been in months that have had less than hospitable weather, but this one is going to be insane. You actually get a bit dizzy after three or four hours of staring at bike bits and girl bits.
Is there still a ferry service from Erie, PA? (used to be)

I will try like hell to get there. Not likely, as I'm too short on cash currently to get my bike on the road.

But if it rolls, so will I...

Because it will likely be a hot event with lots of people, plan to get there as early as possible, if you are going. Once the town gets packed to the point that emergency vehicles have difficulty getting out, they start restricting access until some bikers leave.
I live about a half hour north of Port Dover, (Brantford) and anyone who is coming from a long ways can stay at my place if they want to, on Thursday night. You will have to put up with my two year old calling your bike "Daddys bike!" -PM me if this can help your plans.

              poRT dOVER

saw only ONE hAWK (BLACK) there.
Canada Customs f'ed up seriously at Peace Bridge, trying to put all bikes from US into only one inspection line........there were 250-300 bikes waiting to get through at 10am Friday, and some waited for over an hour, while cars sailed right through at the several booths open to them.

someone at Canada Customs is a total jackass, since this delay was unnecessary!!

as for the event, it was almost too well attended..............crowds were unbelievable, and you had to walk by 500 Harleys to see one Japanese bike!
