considering the spambots seem to have taken that forum over should we just close it and rename it to something else?

Maybe a harder turing test?
Human intervention before registration?
They seem to only make new topics.... Maybe not create new topic for 2 weeks for new members and must interact with old topics before hand.



How hard is the php for this forum? Do we have any PHP experts here

swipes comment alone makes it worth leaving alone.

i have grown to accept them there but it bothers me when i see them in other places.

how many new accounts does the site get a day???
it would be nice to have a approval step before a new account can post.
but if that means the admins need to sort throu 50-100 new accounts each day i could understand why things are left the way they are.

every post is a new account...

i only hit the "new posts" link at the top.. so i kill em when i see em.. but if i dont kill them right that second (saaay, im at work and dont want to chance having porn on the screen) then i never see/delete them...


i need a home computer or some time on a friends computer before i can start modding the board again.. but yea, i know.. i want to kill it too...

Sorry Doc I am sure you are working hard to remove them. But it would be better if we could stop them before hand.

Maybe letting more trusted people to have Admin rights so they can removed them at will.

I second the image verification, I don't think I'd mind one more step to login and it should stop spambots cold. That is if its an option for this forum template. MrDude? You're the code savvy admin right??
