            Steady on

Hear the whole story before you judge.

I dont shoot horse to eat horse (although i did try it in Japan out of curiosity)

I shoot horses as PEST ANIMAL CONTROL - they cause enormous environmental damage in the mountains here. Horse lovers here are as bad as vegan vigilantes. Farking weirdos with no common sense

Are you a horse lover Squirelman?

If so, happy to show you around my country to demonstrate how feral horses don't belong here and should be eliminated from the landscape because of the destruction they cause.

Even lend you my fourth gen VFR to get there. Failing that a v twin of some description

BTW its all protein at hte end of the day and I have been involved in animals welfare and animal ethics committees for the last 30 years so I know a little bit about the issues here

BTW I also cull rabbits, wild dogs and deer. Bambi and cute Peter rabbit go to the several zoos to feed lions, hyenas and crocodile so they're death has two purposes and the carcasses are not wasted in landfill

Its easy on the surface to lay a blanket over all killing.. but like anything else, there is more to the story.

I read this thing about amount of animals that get displaced and killed in order to farm the veggies that are needed to make these commercial "veggie" burgers, tofu chicken, all the other fake meat shit. It is INCREDIBLY destructive too farm all that land. but you could kill one moose, one dear, one cow and eat for a year... Or kill hundreds of small animals farming the land for your "vegan" diet.

I see it just in my "small" farm here. just running the mowers, the brush hog, the weedeaters, etc every once in a while a deer in in the grass almost gets it. Elmer got a rabbit with the mower last week. He was upset but it happens. Frogs get killed constantly here. Its just happens.

Vultures and other scavengers fly overhead when they are mowing the corn, or even bailing hay. The birds know that field will be littered with dead things when the machines are finished. No one cares about them though.

You want to truly eat ethically, go kill your own meat in the wild, and/or carefully farm your own veggies.... By hand. with no pest control. . . On land that was never available for wild life to use... And do it without use of electricity, town water, pond/lake pumped water (kills fish, frogs, etc), if you have a well, what had to die to make that well, what about the pump? The PVC piping?? oh and stay away from commercially bought seeds.. If you are going to use local seeds, you best go visit that farm, see what they are killing....

Don't spend money and buy, spend time and learn.

I'm with you here, 6. You can drive yourself crazy trying to consume as ethically & naturally as possible... "close" is as close as we can get in this modern age, I'm convinced of it. We try to get as close as we can around our house, but it's a learning process. And yeah, every damn thing is connected to another damn thing...

DAgus and 6 - correct on all counts - it all comes down to the amount the world consumes as portion size at meal times.
Here in OZ - cows are a poor resource to farm - very wasteful and poor utilizer of resources. Too much is produced (80% is exported around hte world) to the detriment of the natural ecosystems here - agricultural runoff pollutes waterways, farmers run factory style production principles with massive overgrazing and soil compaction.
There are much better sources of protein - smaller animals and more plant protein.

The world consumes too much, wastes enormous amounts and degrades landscapes and destroys biodiversity in our extractive industries and industrial farming practices.

OZ has enormous problems with obesity, ranked right behind America I believe now, people consume too much of poor quality food.

I have no problem morally or ethically killing animals for food or to culling feral animals to remove their destructive presence from the natural ecosystems.

I just reckon the world can get by by consuming less and wasting less

This one has been getting to me. As a dog ownwer i watch what deetz eatz very carefull. Always on te border of him being further overweight than i am comforttable with. Like anything else as i do this i start to keep an eye out for it in the rest of the world.

                      EVERYONE HAS FAT DOGS!!!

I understand the self control issues with people. I get it. Eating is fun, moving is hard. It's fucking tough to watch your weight. I get it.

WHY does EVERYONE over feed their dogs yo??? It makes no sense!!! People spend extra money, waste food, waste resources, all to make the animal unhealthy. They get ZERO back from over feeding these dogs. WHY?!? WHY!?!?

A guilty conscience maybe ? Compensating for lack of love and walks ??? Kela never had a weight problem until late in life 14 - 15 she pulled up lame on a rear leg.

Karma ? she was chasing a chicken or a cat . We have feral cats and chickens all over the island and she and Linda's dog Mea would hunt and kill then in the jungle if they could catch one.

Not something we approved of, but when out on their own ...

Probably a torn ligament or something, she was too old to spend big bucks on surgery so she limped.

she lived to be a happy 16yo RIP Kela

I bet that is it. THey have a guilt from not properly caring for the dog with exersize, play and outdoor time. The want to make the dog happy, so they feed it. What he really wants is NOT YOUR DINNER what he wants is to go get fresh air and RUN and PLAY!

Deets eats people food every day .He is also outside and of leash from 6:30 am to 4:00 pm then back outside at 6 to walk/run 4 miles. I know that is not possible for everyone, and thats not to brag just to say that with all that I STILL have to watch his weigh. Chuck is my honesty go to.. "he is looking like he could loose a coulple lbs" from chuck and its time to cut out the mc-muffins for a couple weeks haha. It is hard to tell when you are around him 24-7

Maybe thats part of it too. People dont notice they dongs are fat until they are very fat, then a diet gets hard to implement.
