2022 CTHR - July 30-31

Separate thread was requested. Date will be July 30-31 going with the “weekend of the first Monday in august”.

You know the drill by now; plenty of wrenching, bbq, and good times. Plenty of space in my yard for camping, or pile into the bunk room. There’s 5 beds and a few air mattresses, first come first served.

So who’s coming?

Put me on pending list. I'm planning to buy another enclosed trailer, hopefully before then. I'll haul both bikes up. So, plan on Saturday and Sunday, one night over? It's a 9-10 hr drive for me. Better if I come in Friday to make the most of my time.

I’m not to active on the forum but I‘d like to attend this year. I see the dates posted for the last weekend in July. Can you let me know the details, location, etc?

Takes place at my house in Elmira, NY. I’ve got a big yard if you want to camp or bring a trailer. Or you can pile into the large bunk room in my basement. (13’x35’ with padded floor and a handful of beds). On Saturday I light the grill around noon and don’t shut it off until everyone is stuffed. Garage is fully stocked for any repairs or maintenance you need/want to do, and plenty of helping hands. If you show up early I may ask for help setting up the pop up tents or icing down the coolers. Plenty of country roads for short or long rides, and we will go out in groups.

Looks like my Hawk is going to be ready and up for the trip, so I'm planning on coming up from Long Island. Would love to grab a spot in the basement, even on the floor (all of my functional tents are way to big to carry on the bike! - and hoping not to buy one just for this).

I'm adding this to the wish list. We'll see if my son and I can ride the GL and the Hawk down for it. I want to do VMA days at Mid-O and Barber this year too so might be tight.


*** just looked up Mid-O. It's the weekend before so maybe can partake in both on one trip! Down for Mid-O then ride the slow roads to NY! could be epic. See if my son thinks he can do it. He's yet to do a ride longer than 50 miles.

Ah! So I will have to bow out again. We are making a local move and that weekend (and the next) we will be actually moving. Some day I have to make it and put a face to a name. Maybe next year gas won't be so high and will make a 12 hour drive somewhat affordable.
