  • 2023 CTHR - Aug. 5-6

Date will be August 5-6 going with the “weekend of the first Monday in august”.

You know the drill by now; plenty of wrenching, bbq, and good times. Plenty of space in my yard for camping, or pile into the bunk room. There’s 6 beds and a few air mattresses, first come first served.

    So who’s coming?

I've spent most of my money on women, beer, cars and motorcycles. The rest of it I just wasted.

I have the when - from the title...

For us uninformed, how about the "what" and the "where" of this shindig?

You can search 2022 CTHR and get the what and where info FWIW.

Where = my house in Elmira, NY.
What = A combination of BBQ, BSing, wrenching and riding. Ratio of these are entirely up to you.

Some folks show up Friday night, and we’ll have pizza brought in. I fire the grill up Saturday at noonish, don’t turn it off until much later that night. Brazilian style steak, beer soaked bacon wrapped chicken, sausage, wings. Coolers will be stocked with water, beer, soda and redbull. There’s plenty of nice roads to ride nearby, the Fingerlakes region is gorgeous. Folks are welcome to stay at my place, I’ve got decent space between the bunk room and couches, or some folks pitch tents in the yard. Even have had large trailers parked in the yard. Don’t care if you ride your Hawk in, or trailer it, or like some folks fly in just for the good time. (Elmira airport is 15 minutes from my house, more than happy to pickup and drop off folks.)

It is fair to say that the “what” has morphed over the years. Probably more wrenching and BSing with friends than the organized all day ride it used to be.

And let’s say you’ve got a maintenance project you want to do; there’s enough knowledgeable and skilled people to guide you through it. I’ve got all the Hawk specific tools you’ll need, and plenty of garage and driveway space.

So the big question is… are you coming?

                      B.Y.O.G.H.

Bring your own grip heater kit. I have been installing them as a traditional, it seems.

Chuck, if you don't have a set of crimpers like this then you seriously should invest in something exactly like this but preferably not from the Evil A:

                      https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B083L8QTCX/ref=sspa_mw_detail_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0 TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9kZXRhaWwp13NParams#immersive-view_1678839856452

TSA probably won't let me fly with mine. But still it is totally worth the investment.

If you were looking for a support group you're barking up the wrong tree. This place is fulla enablers dude. - Shooter77us

The bitterness of low quality lingers long after the thrill of a low price has gone. - RacerX450
