    triple trees

I was wondering if there was any interest in a set of billit trees? Total weight about 2 lbs way stiffer i might be able to help with key and clock locations. this is just a feeler. cost would be about 400 - 500 dollars.

I'm designing a replacement upper triple, as well. Stock geometry, in aluminum. Keeping the lower tree. Do you have access to CNC?
Perhaps I can help with designing yours, or you can help getting mine machined? It will probably be way $$$ too.
    Here's what I got-

-I'm sorry....I did not know she was your sister.
-If Buckleys cold mixture went rancid......how would anybody know????
-Dont piss off the quiet guy with the chain saw.

Ya I have 6 to choose from. Some 3's a couple 4 and one 5 axis! I was kinda thinking along the lines of my attack triple's with a little ducshop kinda thing. Plus i can get them hard coated!

        nice job
        solidworks???
        or autodeck product???

im about to start doing the same for a cbr 1000 lower triple and a hawk frame. it should be fun with no stock upper triple to measure from.

        also sv hunter

do you have a screw machine because i can design and produce prototypes but would like to outsource larger production numbers and try to keep my per unit cost has low has possable.(was told screw machining would be the cheapest) if i sent you some pictures and order amounts could you give me a quote???

          Yes, Autodesk Inventor 10.
-Still got some more modelling to do; relieve the backside, and add the fillets. Thought I would share what I had so far. May never get made if the machining costs are too high.

I got the measurements from my stock upper triple, if you want, I would gladly share.

thanks but im using cbr 1000 USD forks
and i noticed the top triple comes down to reach the top of the forks, and have larger diameter fork holes has well got to rebuild my f2 front end then take some mesurments and go from there but the look will be very much the same.

tell me, have you thought about running any stress tests on it?
dont you have to buy more software for that

all i got at home is acad 02 and inventor 3 dont use it
but i use 2008 at work. 3d has changed alot in acad 08, its easy to use

looks like yours was designed for stock or f2,3,4 front end right?

you might try what im doing take a class at the local community college so you can learn something and get lab time at the same time. then try to work your bike projects into class work.

              looking closer
              i have a question
have you looked at the length of the threaded hole on the pinch bolts for the forks holes? from just these pictures, it looks like you might run into a lil problem of clearance.

but over all very nice i like the positioning of those bolts kinda out of the way and hidden.

We need to figure out what size upper and lowers we want to use. IE f2 f3 rc51 cbr 1000. Once we do that we can do a run. I could kick out 50-80 units a week. I was goning to use my attack trees and modify them with some tweeking of my own. One off IS NOT the way to go. The only way to make it do able is a run of units 20-50. Thats why i post the question.

                  SV:
I'd be in for an upper tripple if we can get enough together. We may have trouble getting 20 or so to agree though.... My front end is an F2. I also want to add pushbuttons for accessories, but I can drill the holes after.

Thanks for the compliments. No Inventor 10 does not have out of the box FEA. My Unigraphics used to, -- I miss it. I'm just aiming at keeping everything at least as thick (strong) as stock, and machining from stronger material (billet vs cast). The picture is a little misleading. The pinch bolt has lots of meat around the threads.
