Hello Hawk Owners. I'm new to the forum. My name is Jeff and I'm from Mechanicsville, VA about ten miles East of Richmond, VA. I have a Red '89 NT650. I just purchased Aztec8's Dual 5 3/4" headlight kit w/ the relay harness. I have seen that a couple people have installed the kit on their bike and I was looking for advice. The instructions say cut the yellow, black and yellow wire and tap into the stock headlight plug. Our headlight plug has a blue, green and white wire if I remember right. Which wires go together? Also how hard was it to hide all of the wiring. What were some of the strategies utilized by people with the setup. Any help, tips and comments are greatly appreciated. This forum is a great resource and I'm glad to be apart of it.

I can't remember the wires off hand, but the one I got came with very clear instructions.
I did however have to spend a lot of time shorting wires.
I think I took nearly a foot off of all of the ones that where in the way and that did the trick.
Just make sure and do a good job and use a soldering iron.
Also the stock brackets worked for me (I got the 4" duals) with just some additional spacers I got at the hardware store.
Good Luck
and post some pics when you are done.
AARRH Don't mind me, that's just the scurvy talkin!

Sup... I just got mine last night. I have my father n law coming over to lend a electric hand with mine... plus more re-wire work...
I'm sure some bikes have different color wires than stock or manual.
I will let u all know how mine install. I also got the 4". I like the smaller profile and they saved me few $60$ by not getting the brackets. Will add spacers till fits.
Killer look! Modern lights!!! Good Price!!!!

Here are mine fitted with the stock brackets and turns.
Here are the mods needed to make the work.
I added 4 sleeves to the stock mounting brackets and got 30mm m6 bolts to replace the stock. I also took out the center sleeve and added a few washers.
My plans are to black it all flat black when im done.
Wires are next...

The pictures
I finally figured out how to post the pictures. The install was rather straight forward. I used the relay kit and it makes the lights much brighter than stock. I figured out that the blue wire from the stock head light plug goes to the yellow wire from the kit, the white wire from the stock headlightt plug goes to the white wire from the kit and the green wire from the stock headlight plug is the ground. Let me know if anyone needs help with the install. I'm in no way a professional but I can try to help in any way possible.89' NT650 Red

They're CRG hindsight LS mirrors. The best mirrors on the market in my opinion. Great quality. A little pricey but worth it. I got them for $75.00 a piece. I have them on both sides but the mirrors provide such a good view of behind that you could get away with only one on the left handlebar.89' NT650 Red
