That's not just a good read, it's probably the most important helmet article of all time. It turned the conventional thinking of helmet safety on its head, and showed how stupid SNELL ratings really are. SNELL helmets were most likely to cause deadly brain injuries in all the tests they performed.
They pissed off a LOT of helmet manufacturers with that article though. Their advertising almost cut in half after that published.
Z1R, however, got quite a bit of accidental vindication when their cheapest helmet ($79.99) was proven to be the safest in the whole test.

Once again public safety is compromised by maintaing the status quo (ie snell standard). We do ourselves a favor, as well as save some money, by purchasing the lower dot standard helmets! Great article !

or getting a euro spec helmet...
doesnt matter though... ive been drooling over this one helmet for a month now, i think im going to buy it... if i can find one on sale.
I'd recommend looking into Shark helmets if you want the "softer" Euro standard.
Great article right there! Sorry but I am not a fan of the ZR1.

Contrary to popular opinion I think the AGV fits my head fine... oke:
I have even read in review about the "problem" I have had with it, but I fixed it with a little extra padding.
It rated pretty well in the test as well. Comfortable, removable liner, good venting, light and quiet with an easy shield removal system.
I think they are Arai/Shoei quality and only $300 (for the XR2) You can't go wrong. (at least where I get mine)
I have a brand new Red multi one in Large you can try if you would like. Or you can try my Rossi Rep on for size.
