    Insurance Rate

    OK,

This was bound to come up so I'll just start the thing. I'm 27 and have been licensed for a little under 1 year. I currently have Progressive Insurance with Liability-Only converage. It costs me approxiamtely $180 per year. BTW, I have a clean driving record with no tickets.

I only own the Hawk and no other bike. Does anyone have this rate or did I somehow get lucky? Some of my friends from Texas and Cali are telling me that their paying $4500-$6000 per year for insurance. I know they have newer bikes but that seems pretty outrageous.

    Thoughts? Rants?

I have full coverage on my Hawk, and liability on my wife's Hawk with Progressive, and it runs $140 a year. Same deal, clean record/ no accidents, and probably a geezer discount since I'm 39.

I pay a little over $3000 a year with State Farm to insure my Honda Civic, Honda Hawk GT, and Ducati S2R. It's really not too bad.
It's scary how slow I am!

I am also 27, have liability only on my Hawk, and my rate is approx. $100 per year. It would only cost an additional 100 to get full coverage, which I will do win i renew. Policy with Progressive, and only have the Bike insured with them.

$250 for six months with Hermitage, through Atlantic Motorsports in Riverhead NY. Had Progressive and they were more expensive - though I can't remember by how much. But then, I'm 26, I live in Queens and my driving record is a little rough around the edges.
