Hello, I just bought a Hawk in North Carolina, I'm picking it up on the way back from FL. I was wondering what the height of the front of the bike is(including tire), also what the entire length of the bike is. What we were planning to do is put the bike in the back of a Chyrsler Minivan We would take the back wheel off, and put the front tire in between the bucket seats. Will this work

The service manual ( http://www.hawkgtforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=1404 ) has the dimensions of the bike in it. I was able to get a hawk in a newer Honda odyssey minivan with the back row folded in and one of the "middle" seats out. I would guess a Chrysler minivan to be roughly the same size. Had to remove the mirrors off of the hawk, but that was it. The closest dimension was the inside height of the rear door. Length and obviously width were fine.

i have had my hawk in the back of a 89 Chyrsler Minivan the short one not the long one, and my astro. no need to remove anything but the mirrors, and back seats of the van. i load my bikes all by my self because the deck hieght is way lower than a pick-up. can be loaded with a 2x6
get your self two sets (4) tie straps and tie the bike down to the floor where the bench seats normally lock into. alittle trick, the two straps tied to the front forks should go to the back and the straps in the back, off the subframe or passenger pegs, should go forward, making an X. tighten the straps down so the suspention on the bike compresses a few inches. then the bike doesnt need to be proped against some thing, hence the use of 4 straps instead of two. its simple you shouldnt have any problems. i have done it plenty of times.1988 & 1991 hawkgt, 2005 rc51
