    20th Anniversary Hawk Rally (Discussion)

In 2008 the Hawk will Turn 20 (well the 88 Hawks will).

I think we should start looking into planning a get together, there has been discussion on the List about this topic but i figured I would start a thread here.

I submit having it near Hord's place, Maybe at the track for a Hawk only trackday.

    What do you guys think?

    Sounds cool,

But realistically me being in Seattle with a job and kid and stuff I would never be able to make it.

Maybe it should be like many other national celebrations. Each city, area or region should have a gathering point. It would be cool if it could happen simultaneously across the country on the 20th anniversary to the day of the first hawk rolling off the line.
ARRH Don't mind me, that's just the scurvy talkin!

That is a good idea as well.

But you have a YEAR to plan a VACATION out to Ohio!

ohio is nice because it covers the midwest and the east coast giving more people a chance to show. if we could rent a track for even just one day that would be awsome! i would pitch in for that!

now a west coast rally on the same weekend would be cool as well. for the hawkers that find a trek across the contininent a bit far. maybe sanfran another central location giving everyone in southern cali and seattle a meeting place.

i like the idea of ohio because i keeps the travel time for anyone on the east coast down to about 6-8 hours and anyone here in the mid west could get to ohio 5-8 hours

how long would it take you to get to topeka doc?

lets face it, theres alot of hawks close to you guys (new england states) if they have to travel really far i dont think attendance would be nearly has good. and visa versa for the midwest hawkers if they have to travel two days to get to an event not as many will show. ohio makes it so 90% of the people east of the rockies can get there in a days drive.

Nice place! It displaced Mid-Ohio for the SCCA run-offs.

                      This is nice too:

Ohio is good and Hord is near by but it excludes the West coast guys...

Although they do have time to plan!!!

Interstates run east west!!!! The fastest New York to San Fran motorcycle run is 30 hours straight!!! (Run by an iron butt guy on a concours with lots of extra gas storage and a camel back full of mountain dew! and an average speed of about 100 mph ) Yea, mid ohio would be a two day run for the west coast guys but AMA vintage days is a great destination! I'd vote for that. This year it is July 28 weekend, it should be around that time next year.
