*RANT*
So after a long winter of working on the bike and getting on the wifes nerves, I take it out last Thurs. for a test ride. Dont I get only 300ft from the house (first turn) and highside it. Low speed, but I landed on top of it, piledriving it into the pavement.
Two cracked ribs for me, but the bike got the worse deal. Ordered the parts I cant fix, but the tank now has a serious nasty dent on the left side.
New, unscuffed tires, touchy clutch cable, grit on the road, and getting re-used to the bike 'feel' all contributed to this crash. at least none of the parts I needed came back as unavailable anymore. Hope that is my bad luck paid up for this season and a few more to come.
Everyone be super careful on their first rides if you are bringing it out for the season. Check all bolts, signals, mirrors, and anythige else touched over the winter. And if possibe, rough up the surface of new tires with sandpaper to help grip.
Anyone know a good place that can rework a gs tank? I may as well section it and make it bigger next winter.
