    I love dealer demo days!

My local Honda/Kawasaki dealer had a demo day today, i got to ride the new CBR600RR and the Ninja 650R.

All i can say about the 600RR: I've only been riding for about a year and this was my first time on a 600. "Insane" is the only word that came to my mind as the ride ended. Plenty of power, great handling, and great grip. I was only brave (or lack thereof) enough to ring the bike up halfway on the tach and that was plenty fast enough for me. The acceleration is just nuts. I was also surprised how smooth the bike felt, and i didn't find the power delivery as peaky as everyone says 600s are. I can definitely see how i can kill myself at the blink of an eye, and whole-heartedly agree that these bikes are definitely not for beginners.

The Ninja 650R felt like a modern Hawk, although the bike didn't feel as "fun" as the Hawk or even the 600. Plently of power as well, and the handling was good although it wasn't as confidence inspiring as the Hawk. I didn't care for the handle bars or the seating position; it seemed i was taking more wind that i should have. The brake/shifter placement are good though, compared to the 600 where i had some trouble finding the shift lever.

I do like the Hawk a lot, but both of these bikes (specially the 600) made it seem like a bicycle in the power department. I'm in love with the 600 but definitely not ready to move up to one (in the skill and money department )

I knew going test rides was going to be a bad idea

I like demos too!!! I went to my friend's shop and "test" road a KTM SuperDuke.... for 45 minutes!!!!That might be my next bike. My last "new"ride was the RC51 when it first came out... Try going from a RS125GP to an RC. Talk about making it feel like a bicycle......

Nice work on the Super Duke. I read an article about that bike and they RAVED about how awesome it was. How'd you like it?

Loved it actually. A lil tall, my heels were about an inch off.. But once you take off, hold on. Very smooth power, shifting. Front end dives more than I like when hitting brakes. But very smooth ride.. I might have to go back to my friends shop for another ride.... i am also considering the Tuono and maybe go back to Ducs and try out the Mulitistrada or Hypermotard. We'll see. I haven't checked my lotto numbers yet, haha. Go to your nearest shop and try it out!!!!
