spam- conformations code

Is the conformation code not working or something, I read this forum at work so the porn spam is not a good thing for me.

There must be something we can do maybe require human intervention to email some details of the users bikes and interests in this forum, before letting the people register.

I agree it's annoying... but it's hardly difficult to tell what posts are spam/porn spam. They're in offtopic mostly... the poster names don't make much sense, and the subjects are hardly cryptic. Just don't read them.

Ya but the reverse Turing Test should be pretty effective against these type of attacks unless the are using humans to defeat the test (unlikely)

There must be a bug in the system to circumvent the prevention method or they have developed some CRS to understand it(unlikely again)

I agree, it's annoying to see someone has posted in a sub-forum only to find it's a spam post. Not a big deal when it's in off topic but they are increasingly being posted in others now.

no, they actually build a character recognition system to figure it out, and it works really well.

i honestly dont know why this forum is hit harder then any other one i manage.. i mean, take FastGM for example... i get almost zero spam there... but here, i get 10 a day.....



i have a couple other mods i want to put in here, but they require SQL database mods... and i dont have access to modify the DB at the moment.

I use firefox with adblock addin
then just right click go back to domain level in the url and click ok and good bye porn you get just a blank message block.

Of course you need to do this to each porn bot posting untill your adblock database starts to build up.

Another thing you may want to investigate is what is known as a host file basicly this file blocks known bad web addresses.

They are not real time scanners ie monitor your system, but are want are known as on demand scanners ie you double click on an icon to run them
