Today i are mostly glared at the Hawk since it seems to have developed an appetite for main fuses so i took the 996 to work instead. A truely schitzoid bike - fantastic in the country, an utter bitch around town....

WW, smoke really not bad at road level (still might be if one has breathing ailments) but visibility was reduced as you look farther away. Seem to me it reduces the heat somewhat.
The picture was yesterday and I rode my Magna 60 miles this morning while nice and cool (75-82) and it was about the same haze today.Bill,

Don't spend money and buy, spend time and learn.

So my daughter has once again decided to get her motorcycle license, and since the last bike that was built for her was ultimately transformed into the Daisy Bike, I've started to prep another for her. The dented-learner-tank and rear cowl had already been sprayed with black/purple metalizer plastidip, tonight I did a front fender to match. Got the rear axle/hub assembly apart, the grease smelt burnt. Will have to look at the bearings in good light when my eyes aren't so tired, but I think it was just very old and will just need a good cleaning and re-greasing. Took stock of what else it needs: remove tumor exhaust, carbs cleaned and rejetted for pods/supertapp shorty can, new grips, 150/60 rear tire, front marker lights (currently only 2 wire, won't pass NY inspection), and oh yeah, the eccentric is completely missing a few teeth. Haven't dug into the front end yet, think I'll be spending some time cleaning/rebuilding the rear assembly. Guess I'll start a new build thread...'89 Hawk a.k.a. The RallyHawk (my son's now!) | '89 Hawk a.k.a. The Deuce | Spare Parts/Dented Learner Bike | '13 Tacoma | '69 Falcon (currently getting reassembled!)
I've spent most of my money on women, beer, cars and motorcycles. The rest of it I just wasted.

Todayi did nothing with my hawk, or yesterday since running sound system at festy.
But on friday.....i wanted to kill it with fire. For the second time in two years i had a problem with the main fuse holder. Fuse works loose, sparks out and semi melts holder. Therefore it works loose more often and the damn bike cuts out again and again, finally dying completely. First time in a decade i call out breakdown recovery since like a muppet I've left tank bag on the ducati with tools, insulation tape, spare fuses etc and I'm miles from anywhere.
One decent bodge later and i ride home like a bastard, pretty hacked off with time wasted. Pirelli Diablo Corsa rear gets scrubbed in the nasty way and I'm damn glad to get home.
New starter solenoid & fuse holder ordered. Yay.

Just a little quieter than the ST but with nicer throatier tone. Kept the ST headers and got a 30 degree stainless link pipe. Couldn't be happier, especially considering the price. eBay even had a 15% off promo that week
