Rode a Kawi ZX750 last Friday...

1993 Ninja 750... what a friggin' monster by comparison!!! My buddy from work was working the late shift and he let me take his out this Friday afternoon when I got off at 5 -- I was gone a good 45 minutes...

Thing just kinda wants to dive into turns... not as heavy as I expected though. And a lot more power than I expected... I mean, is it that big a jump from 650 to 750?

Wow. 1st bike I've been on that wasn't a Hawk.

i remember when i started trying different bikes after only riding the hawk for a few years, it seamed so strange. then i tried a few others and realized every bike has its own character. so are easier to define than others. so far the only thing that seamed close to a hawk was the 750 monster but still not the same.

Yeah those kawi's from the 90's are monsters dimension wise... They aren't as nimble to throw around in turns either. I still loved the F4i that I had though because it was just a nice all around MC and really took my riding to the next level... I do love my Hawk though, and I will hug her, kiss her, and never let her go

I have much love for the ZX-7 line- they're about the most confidence inspiring sportbike ever. They're big bikes and not meant for the tightest of slow and twisty back roads but in fast sweepers you could plow through a herd of cape buffalo mid-corner and the thing would still stay on line. If you make it to Walcott's shindig,I'll probably bring my lightly modded 99 - you'll have to take it up above 8k where it really starts making some power
A friend of mine's barely 100lbs and has _no_ problem riding the snot out of my 7R...so many people get way too worked up about the size of bikes.

July 13-15.I'm really hoping to make it-I shouldn't be riding right now and I won't do any sporty riding, but I want to go hang out.

Yeah...mostly.I kinda tried to tear arm from body late last summer and the healing process has been slow.I was told 18 months but that's seeming to be a little optimistic right now.blah.

The big thing there is that you are going from a 650 V twin to a 750 inline 4. The 600 CC inline fours will smoke a hawk.... about twice the hp.

When it was stock barring Hindle pipe and jet kit,my 7R made 119hp.A Hawk with a pipe and jet kit makes more like 52-the extra hundred pounds of weight are easily dealt with...Add 50 more cc's and some headwork and cams to the Hawk and you can get another 15hp...add 100cc's to the Kawi and it's knocking on 140hp.It's still a big bike but now it's a really stable, fairly quick big bike
