I had a TBR left system on for a couple of years, with not much problems, it all depends on what you want.
The 3 problems with leftys as I know:
    1. You will have to remove your centerstand entirely, or do some creative re-fabricating to make it still work.
    2. If your sidestand has been extended due to a CBR 900 shock, it will likely hit the pipe.
    3. If you want to carry a passenger, the left passenger peg bracket is in the way.

I never extended my sidestand, lost the centerstnd completely, and made a special shorter footpeg bracket. For me, it worked just fine.
-I'm sorry....I did not know she was your sister.
-If Buckleys cold mixture went rancid......how would anybody know????
-Dont piss off the quiet guy with the chain saw.

also, if your not careful, the pipe can rub on the swingarm... and that steel pipe eats into your pretty alum swingarm quickly....

the rear hanger (that you have to make) holds the can and end of the muffler out..

tweak it, or something, and it'll rub.

at max extention (rear wheel off the ground), it will always hit.. but unless you're jumping the hawk (eek!) that wont happen while riding.

usually the chain hits the exhaust before that becomes an issue.

as the suspension compresses, it gets more and more distance from the swingarm...

btw, im refering to the style that goes under the swingarm. i think theres a diffrent style that cuts straight up infront of the rear wheel, then over (where the fuel pump is) and then back out hte left side... that one should clear better, but i dont have any first hand experiance with it.
