    Hawk color question

I'm getting ready to jump into this Hawk craze (addiction?) and have a question for you old, er, I mean, long-timers.

So, Honda comes out with the Hawk in 1988 in a metallic gray (metallic flecks in the paint) and a flat blue color option. Then in subsequent years, the color choice is red (non-metallic). Is this correct? Is the only metallic color option in the gray 1988 Hawk? If so, sign me up for gray--me likey metallic

Thanks in advance for your info.
My Hawk might not be powerful, but she's slow.

The Blue/Grey 88 and the rest red is correct.

I don't know the Bros colors.

I have had an 88 blue and the rest have been 90 Reds.

My 88 was grey until I got it painted - black. And FWIW, they don't make Honda Grey Metallic anymore, that I know of.

if you can find a stock color hawk thats lucky after 19 years. the fact that no one repainted it, due to dropping, boredom, or customization is amazing lol.

                    88 Paint

I would not classify the Candy Tanzanight Blue as a "flat" color. In appearance, it reveals itself as a rather subtle metallic effect. Quite striking actually...

I found this place that sells the grey metalic paint for the 88. I am planning on ordering enough to paint my tank. I got a fender and tail piece on Ebay in grey that the paint on is near perfect. I hope the paint will match. http://www.colorrite.com

There are four OEM - colors for the HAWK :

                            1988 :
                            PB-115CU Candy Flair Blue metallic

                            NH-119MU Tempest Gray Metallic metallic

PB-184MU Granite Blue metallic - it looks like black but it is a very very dark blue and in the sunlight you can see a lot of blue metallic parts in the color.

                            1989 :
                            R-157 italien red no metallic

The one with the red seat is the canadian hawk, correct?

There is nothing that says you need to paint your bike in an original color. It won't make it worth less if you pick your own!!!
