    Frame Sliders

Any one ever put sliders on their Hawk? Where did you mount them? Anyone have a picture they can share? Thanks for any and all help in advance.

Rod Holland at HiPerform is what you want. Tons of pics on most of the bikes at www.hawkgt.com in the Photo Album.

Everyone in this area has 'em from HiPerform. They are engine-through and inexpensive, at least in the US.

But if you have the 2 bros pipe Hiperform doesn't have an adapter. (The pipe blocks the bolt.

I got said adapter from my supplier, got 2 feet of threaded rod at Home Depot, (Cut to length) with some washers and nuts and got 2 frame sliders from the same supplier. I think it all cost me about $50.

You're right--I forgot about the pipe.

When I got my frame sliders, I notice it's just the same length threaded rod used as the engine-thru rod, only with locknuts and sleeves for the sliders. The sliders are standard issue. For what I paid, it was worth buying them from HiPerform, but I don't have an aftermarket pipe in the way.

Best investment for your Hawk/Bros. Went down on a lowside at about 15 miles an hour (hydraulic fluid leaking from the trash truck). I had just painted the bike and put the new exhaust on. Picked up the bike not a scratch (other than the slider).
If you're looking to protect your investment I'd also get rid of the stock foot pegs and go with fixed rearsets. I know that some people dont like them but the will make a difference if you happen to go down (wreck that is).

Oh by the way my slider are Hiperform. Other than the 2Bros I don't think there are any problems with any other exhausts.
The final measure of any rider's skill is the inverse ratio of his preferred traveling speed to the number of bad scars on his body.
