    Finally...

    The Hawk is back together and running! Fired it up today after having the valves lapped and heads cleaned up, and the addition of 663 pistons.
    Course it was pouring rain today, so hopefully I'll be able to get out on it tomorrow to see how it all works.

    Much thanks to JD for his tech help, and speedy parts delivery... as well as to the rest of you for answering my questions!

    edit... Oh... and most importantly... no smoke now! Not yet anyway!

      sadly no... Ah well... It did give me a chance to upgrade, and I gained a better understanding of my motor! lol
