when we have a normal tropical storm/hurricane/whatever here, the news just shows the worse possible images it can find, and then trys to say EVERYWHERE is like that..

is it really as bad over there as they're making it out to be on TV here? im looking at a pizza hut under 3ft of water right now....

(on a side note.... its cool that you guys have pizza hut over there.. lol)

Raining? We've had about 6 dry days in the last 2 months. It's got to the point that you have to watch the weather forecasts like a hawk to work out how long you have to sneak a ride in before it starts raining again.

Wasn't there a thread that showed the wierd uses for Hawk bits?

One was an airboat or hovercraft powered by a 650 engine. Maybe coming back again to an english town near you.

I remember about 2 months ago there were warnings that it would be the hottest summer on record.

Yes, it is more or less that bad over a large part of the country. Cold (we haven't seen 85 F here yet) and wet...

Had bad flooding near the beginning of the month, again last week, and again tonight/this week. We're talking about several towns and cities being pretty much underwater and evacuated. While it's not as bad as that here in Chester, if you look at the Dee (the local river) it's really swollen and has burst it's banks upstream of us near Wrexham. There are farm fields which are completely underwater for as far as you can see on my commute. Really unnerving riding past that, even on a road that is elevated quite a ways.

Yeah, someone made a hoverboat powered by a bros/ntv/hawk engine.

And I'm afraid I have to disagree with you Mr Dude, it's not cool that we have Pizza Hut over here. I for one like to see different cultures when I travel, not the cosumerism (mainly from the US) driven strip malls made up of the same companies that the world seems to be adopting. Meh.

Don't mind me if I seem cranky, I've been a bit of an insomniac for the past couple of weeks. I wish I could

This is one of the most effective picture of the flooding in my opinion ...

caption : The severe flooding can best be appreciated from the air. The Norman abbey in Tewkesbury, founded in 1087 and consecrated in 1121, now stands alone against the advancing flood water.

Pretty much every year somewhere will be flooded - it's funny that it always seems to be a surprise. It's unusual for July, mind.

                          hmm

everytime i hear or think of rain in england, im reminded of one thing..

ever since i was little, ive been around british sports cars.
most of them have windsheild wipers that FAIL IN THE RAIN.

you would think that, of all people, the british would make a rainproof car... lol.

Yup, it's pretty wet here. I managed to lose my car in a flood. It was just a little deeper than it looked

It's all the fault of you Americans. Apparently you've been sending us the jetstream instead of sending it to Sweden.
