    Homemade rearstand

    Hey all,

To those of you who have made the homemade rearstand, Jayson especially I followed your plans, it seems that on mine even though my 1" thick tube that goes inside the axle is too small in diameter...My bike wobbles on it, should I go up a size or wrap it in some duct tape to tighten up this fit? I just worry about it being to tight b/c it is a fixed shaft not a ball bearing to roll with the wheel turning, so the tighter it is, the more effort it takes to turn the rear wheel...Not sure what to do?

    thanks,

    Jason

When I made my stand I had to machine the pin to make it work. I didn't use any plans just stuck a pin on the lathe until I got it right. I do remember it not being a standard size though. This was no help, sorry

I appreciate it, did you have any play or is yours perfect fit? If so how hard is it to get in the hole and how hard is it to turn the wheel, maybe having some play isn't a bad thing? I think half the reason mine wobbles a bit is b/c I welded it fast and it isn't completely square either, I am going to redo it right and slow this time...

No play, pretty easy to get in, wheel turns alright....If I changed anything I'd put the pin on bearings, that way it doesn't turn inside the wheel, turns inside the stand instead
