What's with the undeleted spam threads?

I have seen the same spam threads now for two weeks. I'm not complaining, just curious. This is my house too and I care. We need to delete this crap.

If the moderators need more help just ask.

    Thanks,

    Chuck

I have to agree with ya on the nuking them.
Plus I think that who ever posts the spam should be blocked from the site.

The problem is that the posters are bots...
Little pieces of software that register and post... Once.
So.. yes we can nuke 'em... but there's too many...
The only thing that'll help is probably to get some sort
of verification system built in that can verify if the poster
is human or not... Moderators: Cry out if you need help ok?

Is there no way to keep bots out from registering.
Whats with these pic where you have to type the letters from to confirm the registration. Cant we get it here, too?
Havn't seen the bot-stuff at boards over here...

              bye, M.

I just ignore 'em. Easy to do, as they are all in the Off Topic section. Deleting bot-spam is a 24/7 job, and I'm sure the mods want to get a ride in now and then

                  Thanks Mr. Dude!

I will soon be selling off quite a few Hawk parts (ie. complete stock front end, TBR solo tail section, Fox shock, stock fuel tank) in preparation for Thorsten's dummy CF tank/ airbox, CF tailsection and underseat fuel tank. Hord will be working his magic on the motor.

My point is, I'll donate 25% of the sale proceeds to this site. I expect this to happen around Oct. Thanks for all you guys do!!!

KDNYC, "I just ignore 'em." That's kinda like coming home and finding a pile of crap on your livingroom floor and just ignoring it....

I usually give them a miss as they mostly are in the Off Topic section, but once in a while one of them gets clever and titles their post 'New to the forum' or something and I get tricked. It's no skin off my nose, just a few wasted seconds. But it'd be nice not to have them here, sucking bandwidth. I too would be happy to volunteer to delete bots until we get a verification system going.
