What magnetic tank bag fits best?

I need a magnetic tank bag. I have a tank bag that uses straps but the bike is so narrow the bag keeps sliding off to one side or the other. So, show me your tank bags! Tell me what works. Tell me what doesn't.

    Thanks!!!

I have an old Chase-harper magnetic but it slides also (when it is windy). Not a current model but it works most of the time. With a strong side wind, I have to keep on the bike with my elbows.

Mine's a Cortech, got it at the Honda shop, about $70-$80 I think it was. It doesn't budge and is big enough to stuff clothes, a camera, toothpaste,/deo, etc... and more into it.One clip unclips to remove it and carry by its handle with ease. I love it as it never gets in the way no matter what kind of driving i'm doing (it also has been known to carry a 6-pack of red stripe and a 750ml of Jagermeister

Mine is a cheapo B-Square one from ebay. Sticks to the tank like stink on shit. Cost me $20 inc P+P. The only minor downside is the seethrough plastic bit on top tends to fill up with air as you ride

My small Marsee tank bag has pretty strong magnets. I got mine for $20 on eBay.

Haven't tested it in expanded form, though.

The magnets are that strong on mine sometimes I worry about them denting the tank. There's no chance of that sucker blowing off. Last week I did a few miles on the motorway sitting at 100mph and it was going nowhere.

I heard you can buy some of that grippy, spongy stuff that comes in a roll and use it as a tank protector between tank and bag. I worry less about the magnets than what it picks up off the bike!

Nope, it has a zipper around the perimeter that you can unzip so the bag expands upward about 2 inches. It comes with a strap that goes around the steering yoke with a clip on it that securely attaches the bag to the bike, but it has a grippy bottom on it with the magnets inside.

Well I broke with everyones advice and went with this River road system I found on ebay. And at $36 shipped I got a heck of a deal. the product is nice, and when they shipped me the strap version by mistake they corrected the error by shipping me the magnetic base for free. so I can highly recommend bikebandit.com- on ebay they are bikebandit_open_it_up. great company!

I used to use a Marsee magnetic-base bag, but when I switched to a CF tank on one of my Hawks, I needed another way. "Strappin-on" the Marsee was less than satisfying (sounds like a problem, eh?). What do you expect for $35?

Always searching for the better mousetrap, I came across this system from SW Motec I picked-up through Twisted Throttle.

Yeah, the cost of entry is steeper than the Marsee but it won't scratch the paint on any tank, and works on ferrous and non-ferrous tanks.

Bag quality is similar or better than Oxford.

                              -P.
                              I need a bigger garage.

It's a dirty job but someone's got to do it.
