    Hawk Weight?

Stock our bikes are supposed to come in at 412 with a full tank.
I see some claims for pretty low weights...
Do any of you have accurate weight measurements for you modified Hawks?
After all that beefy 43mm USD fork and VFR wheel sporting a 180/55 has got to more than make up for the LW tail section

I have a lot of work to do.
Anyone know of a Ti factory that has all kinds of nuts and bolts laying around I can break into.

      That's more than a 65# reduction

What did you do? Does your bike have lights?

Mine was 292# without fuel before I put the starter/charging system back on. (weighed with a digital shipping scale) So now it is back up to a piggish 315# or so! Of course, she ain't street-legal either.

Mine was at 293 lbs with little gas in it but I have done a few things since then so I will have to get out the scales again! It is a race bike only. Marchesini wheels, all of our Hiper Form race parts, no charging system and carbon tank are a big help! I have Ohlins front end with Attack Perf clamps on my bike that looks huge but is lighter than the F3 front end I had on the bike before.

What do you think a reasonable weight for a street bike would be?

There has to be some one with a street bike lighter than stock...
                Anyone?

                Thanks!

Last time I weighed mine (on race scales). It was 385 with about about half a tank of fuel. That was just no airbox, and running an FMF Ti pipe with mild steel midpipe.

I think I can get it down to 320 and still (bairly) street legal.

It depends upon how safe and legal you want to be.

My Hawk has a license tag and a headlight. It has been ridden on the street, ergo it's a streetbike. If I rode it every day, eventually my local LEO's would lose their sense of humor and chances are,I'd get punted off of it and it's be largely my fault for not having lighting...For down in GA,whateva - if I get stopped down there, those mofo's have no patience for yanquis anyway so it's not like I'd be in much more trouble...I don't care about the whole 2lbs of weight - fawk,I'm 185lbs- I'm just lazy.

If you want a light bike, after you've done the normal and cheaper stuff, the cost:weight savings ratio graph starts getting pretty steep...just like the cost:more power after over 70hp.Try to track down a carbon tank and some magnesium rims. They don't grown on trees and aren't cheap but otherwise, you're going to be hard pressed to have anything streetable and much under 340something I don't reckon.

Mine's ~ 325 depending upon how bad the dump scales lie and what bodywork if any is on it.

                      Thanks Guys!

The thread that got me thinking was 701cc of bad ass hawk" or some thing like that. The (street)bikes owner was claiming "around 300# wet weight"... I guess that's too good to be true, so I was just checking in before doing my hp per pound dreaming!

                      Thanks again

I'll have to get mine on a scale. That said almost every nut and bolt are tie, woodcraft set's, hiper forum race tail with widdled down sub, billit triple trees. I think most of the weight is the motor(around 150) a huge part of that coming from the fly wheel. I'm shootin for 300 with fuel I don't know if it's possible.

Let me know when you get it on the scale. BTW do you have any pics I could take a look at?
