Pics of my supertrapp shorty elite exhaust fabrication

    Hey guys,

So here she is, what do you think, everything worked out great!!! Had to cut my "y" pipe, and then strapped a stainless clamp around the body to the heal guard, looks factory I think...Best part is with the way I've done it, it will not melt the rear tire, it takes the same angle as the muzzy, stops at the rim so you can see the wheel in all its glory, but exits at the open part of the rim, not the tire...Now my heal melting that is another story lol, it is right on the heal guard, I've tested it and it appears I'll be ok, but haven't done an extended ride...Damn it looks so good, much better than in the pics, only problem now is that shitty rusted "y" pipe, ruins how good everything else looks, should I paint or just get a new one??...Ok everyone I want your opinions on how it came out, good and bad...

Pipe was 131.00 through Summit Racing, then 1.30 for the clamp lol...Best part is the sound and performance is tuneable...Sounds real good to, not loud at all really with 6 rings, I have up to 12 to try, the more rings the more power/sound, but the leaner it will run...I'm gonna stay with six and check the plugs in a few miles...

Thanks man! I now am bothered by the passanger peg lol...It is screwing up my view of the wheel...I love your alls bikes that are all cleaned up in the back, I just keep thinking that I may want to take the wife out one day, but I doubt that will happen, I ought to just take them off too...By the way, anyone have any ideas on the rusty "y" pipe...Paint it maybe, if so would you try black or gray? I don't want it to look gay, but it doesn't look get now rusty...

You need to ceramic coat your headers and Y pipe with this stuff http://www.columbiacoatings.com/chromeceramic.htm and yes you can do it yourself!

                          Good Start with the pipe.
Yeah you are going to need to get that collector taken care of.
As far as passenger pegs just take em off. I myself made some little tringle pices to cover up the mounting holes. But I can't remember, do the mounts even show with the plastic on?

My bracket was pretty simple and works well. It just needs a coat of paint. Everything gets rusty up here in seattle.

Looks good Everything worked out really well with the sizes etc. Luck was very much on your side considering you were unsure on measurements and that angle looks perfect. Yep, I agree, get rid of those pegs, takes just 5 min to put them back on if you need to carry a pillion. Nice job.

Nice can man!! I like the looks of that very much! Don't remove the passenger brackets totally though... You'll risk tears in the bodtwork... I ground them down, so you don't see them anymore, but they still keep the bodywork in place.
