    Slippery seat

I am new to Hawks and have a stock seat. I find myself up on the tank all the time and when I think about it, I get in a better position, I find myself pressing with my knees constantly, resulting in some soreness.

So the question is, can anything be done to the stock set covering material to increase friction? I thought of adding rubber knee pads like on Brit bikes.

I am sure I'm not the first to experience this, what have you all done?

the seat shouldnt be slippery right now.
perhaps the previous owner put something silly like armor all on it.

try washing it with dawn dish detergent.. that should cut the stuff off it, without harming it.
then if it needs it, you can try lexol, or meguiars natural shine.. they'll both leave it clean and shiny without making it slippery.

The stock seat is the worst thing about the bike. It's possible that the PO cleaned it with something that has made it slippery, but if you feel like you're constantly scooting back on the seat after stops, well, that's the stock seat.

Reupholstering it and reshaping it might help. A corbin seat is a good investment.

Sounds to me like the PO may have sprayed it with Pledge. Mind you, I always ride in leathers so my arse always tends to grip the seat. However, on occasions I have rode very short distances in jeans and turned my testicles blue against the tank.

corbin has a different shape, worth a try. plus you can go a hole tank before your but gets to numb.
