Which way to go - front end swap.

I'm very close to going with a newer front end swap but I'm not finding a good complete '03 CBR 600 RR setup (found one on E-Bay but I suspect the forks aren't perfectly straight after seeing what happened to the right clip-on; the other one is too pricey at $350).

Option A: I have located a mint '07 600 RR complete front end minus the front rim and rotors for $700 + $80 shipping.

Option B: '04-'05 1000 RR front end and front rim for $721 shipped. I'll have to find the rotors and bolts for it plus decide on some clip-ons.

Option C: Complete '07 CBR 1000 front end for $1000 - includes everything.

If you had your drethers, which way would go? I think finding an '07 rim and rotors is going to prove challenging and expensive; the 1000 RR setup seems like it might be overkill for a Hawk but for the price, it's a good deal.

Option D: I just go with a plain jane 1992 F2 setup for about $250.

I know for a fact that guy with the '03 rr forks has tryed to sell them like 3 times. I'm sure you could talk him down. Ask him if their perfectly strait..If he says yes and their not, ebay can back you up. Just save the question and responce.

P.S. I wanted those forks...love the look of the huge calipers.

Is it the one in TN with the clip-ons (shipping priced at $275!!!) or the one with the dinged upper fork tube with the BIN?

Yep thats the one(tn)...He had the price set before at 225 with 75 dollars shipping. Thats so cheap to set shipping at 275. You should ask him if you can pick them up..and see what he says.

I offered and he didn't answer; just said he wanted to get $350 out of it. He apparently only hand tightened everything together, which explains why the one fork tube is higher in the upper triple tree than the other one.

I'd snach that front wheel tire an rotors for like 203 with 10min left while i was at it. I think thats a good deal. not great just good.

Then boom you've got a whole front end!

I'm watching it but always lose those at the last second!!! Thus, I like BIN's.

yeah he told me he wanted like 300 out of it. I figured that about the legs being diff. lengths. Let him try and sell it again and I bet he'll take your offer. Swear its the 3 time lol

Lost out on the wheel and rotor - was only willing to pay $250 for it.

I agree BIN is so much more civilized.

Rim with a nice slick went for like 150 last month. I missed that deal too. Had a BIN and I couldn't move fast enough.

And a tad more expensive but it spares me the trouble of an auction getting out of hand.

Yeah...their new slogan is "Its better when you win it".....That idea just runs all the prices up. Hard to find good deals now. Unless its a little thing that only you want. That '03 wont get bid on I'd omost bet you on it...lol

Yeah, I've been thinking the same thing. I watched an '06 front assembly - the one that went with the rim, tire, and rotor - go with 1 bid at $375 + $85 shipping.

I just couldn't justify spending that kind of money for it, especially after reading through the guys feedback and him emailing that he had an offer for $300 on the wheel setup.

Yeah I was on a tight buget. And getting the '03 front meant I'd only have money left for a rim and rotors. no tire...That wouldn't be any fun.
