Just ordered my buell signals, got a question

I know someone has said only get the rears, I believe, but the parts person showed me the book on all of them, all the same, left front is the right rear and vice versa, only one part number for all signals...Just want to make sure this is right b/c they are already ordered. The parts person seemed to know what they were doing and even showed me the book and diagram where it said it. Anyone care to comment?

If they're the same, what's the issue with not installing them up front?

I went with Aztec8 front and rear LED signals but I am curious to see how your's turn out.

That is what I would like to know, all I do know is the official buell order book only has 1 part number for all 4 signals and specifies they are all the same, front left = right rear and right front = left rear, so there should be no difference in any of them, you just need 2 left and 2 right please if anyone can clarify let me know

wait, my post above didn't make any sense as the left and right rear signals would obviously be different, what I mean was that the book specifed what I said above, that the right rear = left front and left rear = right front. I went back to the original canyon chasers.net article and he specified to order the rear only b/c they had shorter stocks, but when I asked the parts girl at buell about it that is when she showed me they were the same on a buell in the showroom, the fronts were longer, but there is an extra piece up front on the buells that make them that way, it is NOT part of the signal, at least that is what she told me. Anyway, I took her word for it that just to order 2 lefts and 2 rears and I'll be straight, we'll see if she is right or not, they come in Thursday, I'll be pissed if they are not correct, again if anyone can shed any light on if she is wrong or right please let me know,

I ordered the Buell signals from my local HD/ Buell dealer and they told me there was no differance from the front and rear. When I got them, two were longer than than the other two. I found the HD parts dept. not very knowledgable in the parts catalog for the Buells. But, Buell may have changed the signals for the newer models. Let us know what you get.

shoot, I bet that is what is going to happen, that pisses me off, I'll call tomorrow and confirm, but I told them 4 rear signals, but then she said "no difference", and I pointed out the longer front ones on the buell in the store, but then again she said , "no it doesn't come with that longer part", if it does they better take them back and order the right ones, she told me there is no return on electrical parts, but I am going to be pissed if they are different when she was adament about them being the same, I'll keep you all posted...

yeah same...i ordered mine and they told me that there would be no difference but i already knew from research and actually seeing the signals that there was. I told them to not ship the signals to me until they made sure they were all the same and sure enough 6 days later i got a phone call saying that the parts had arrived but were not what i needed so it would be 1 more week. but i did get free shipping out of the deal

Shite, I will call them now, but they will be no help, they'll just say "they are the same" I guess it is going to take them coming in to get it through their head.

Ok, had a different person look in the book, and he said "It is the same part numbers, the left rear is the right front, and the right rear is the left front", so I don't know where some people are coming up with that there is rear and front signals, there seems to be only left and right according to everyone i've talked to at the buell dealer and they are going specifically off the book...I don't know, I trust what you guys have said thought so I am confused, how can their buell factory order book be wrong???? Guess I'll just have to wait and see...Any other thoughts? Thanks,

Are ALL Buell winkers the same (as in from bike to bike)?

I ordered a set from Bike Bandit (XB9R ) and they came in as fronts. Much longer than the rears and with different mounting. Bike Bandit was forgiving and I paid shipping back and got a refund.

The local HD shop got me the correct rears, but I didn't ask about fronts as I have the Targa Windscreen and haven't figured a way to mount/convert them yet.

Yes, from what I understand that they told me at the HD/buell dealer is that almost all the buells have the same signals, and the 4 different buells they had in the showroom all had the same (XB9R) signals

Hey all,

Just got my signals in, and they ARE CORRECT, so they must have changed things at buell, b/c there is NO difference between the front and rears anymore, I am installing them today, with pics to follow for all of those that have asked me to show how it goes, they look AWESOME!
