    Clip ons

I noticed that by far the most hawkers here ride with clipons. what`s the reason for that? SB bars handle much better don`t they? so what are the reasons to keep clip ons?

I currently have SB bars but I`m thinking about swapping for clip ons again. what are the pro`s and cons?
What was the start of all this?
When did the cogs of my Hawk begin to turn?
Perhaps it is impossible to grasp the answer now,
from deep within the flow of time...

But, for a certainty, back then,
I loved it so much, yet hated so many.
I hurt others and was hurt myself...

Yet even then, I rode like the wind,
    whilst my laughter echoed
    under cerulean skies...

Id say it's more of an ergonomic issue, the more forward and down upper body riding position sets you up for a more agressive(ready to lean and hang off the bike)ride. If you do go with clip-ons Id also go with rearsets as this moves the peg up and back, also forcing you to use your thighs more.......Besides that they look soo damn cool

I dunno. I`m not the real leaning type of rider. I useually only lean my upper body. I really need to learn to ass-slide before a turn.

But I just tested teh position of the clip-ons and I`m afraid my back won`t last 10 minutes...

I'm 6'3" and I have Woodcraft clip-ons and rearsets and find it comfortable enough to have gone nearly 600 miles in a day. I moved the clip-ons to under the top triple tree once, now THAT was uncomfortable (thought the bike near dropped itself into every curve without so much as a thought by myself)... they were put back up top after one 50 mile ride! I don't how the guys do it that are on here.... then again, I'm a big boy...

In this pic, you can see, it's not really too aggressive.

That`s your fault for being a slowpoke. :P

nah, I tested the sitting position with clipons yesterday. my back`s still not up to it. I`ll stick with my SB bars.

I had clipons on the bros. I took them off and put the stock ones back on. I'm 5'6" and have a bit of a gut to stretch over so the stock ones work better for me. If I were racing or riding more aggressively I'd definitely loose a hundred pounds(get rid of the gut) and use the clipons. But right now it's all about comfort and better low speed control.
