    I'm in! I'm in!

It's official....after months of serious soul-searching and comparison shopping (with another very venerable Honda model that will remain nameless), I was able to snarf me up a red '89 Hawk

I'd like to thank all of you who I PM'd out of the blue looking for advice (jaysunOne, logicus, Hawktane, whiskeypigeon, Mayoke). I took your advice, and I gotta tell ya', I really like the bike. I guess it could be called a tad underpowered, but with the Supertrapp pipe, it sure is lots of fun and makes a tremendous ruckus when you thwack the throttle. I've only put about 50 miles on it, but weather looks good for this weekend--hope to ride most the day Sunday.

Anywho, I was wondering where I can pick up the official welcome packet and where do I learn the secret handshake.

I'll try to post a pic or 2 when I get home tonight.
My Hawk might not be powerful, but she's slow.

the secret handshake involves flipping a 180 in traffic to say hi to the other hawker, because you never see another one on the road when you're on yours.

you're going to love it.. they're so fun to ride, you can just hop on and go......

Provided its not spewing coolant or waiting for a new rear end

      Seriously though, Welcome!

Ride that thing as much as you can, but take care of it so it lasts forever!

Your Hawk accomplishes the impossible: making a Targa fairing and a Corbin Gunfighter & Lady seat look good! Somehow, the combination of the two works (I can't believe I'm saying this). Alone, either one makes the lines of the bike weird, but I like your setup!

targa fairings are odd but I think it helps with the wind some.

I totally agree... alone, the hawk looks really really funny (especially that targa fairing... looks like your tuning in a satellite transmission with that thing), but together it actually complements quite nicely! Congrats on ownership and ride that thing a LOT!!

Super nice looking hawk, damn does it have any miles on it??? I have to disagree though with everyone, ditch the seat/targa and cut that pipe! Super clean looking bike man!

Thanks for the kind words fellas.

Yeah, that Targa's not my ideal look, but that's the way it came. It was a 4.5 hour drive to pick it up and those are the pics fresh off the truck.

It's got 16k on it right now--previous owner took great care of it--I was really impressed when I first saw it in real life.

So far I really like it--I'll probably keep the fairing on during the colder months, it helps with the wind. And when the funds allow, I want an all black solo Corbin.

Really enjoy this forum--some of you guys are maniacs with your mods--neat stuff

I like it! Hey, some of the Ducs are going for the retro look. It may be coming back into style

If you decide to ditch the tank bra, I'll buy it from you!

                          Thanks KDNYC.

It's interesting you mention that about Ducatis...

My neighbor walked across the street an hour ago because he has seen me riding past and wanted to know what kind of Ducati I had just bought.

He's a car guy but knows a little about bikes--he was floored that mine is an '89
