  • Larger tank....

I have read that the Honda Revere tank was tank upgrade for a Hawk. 5g vs 2.9g.

Are these tanks plug and play?

Are there any other local (US) tanks that can be used?

Not plug and play. Tank's longer and doesn't fit the seat or the bolt points.

      OK

I have seen that a guy on speedzilla.com by the handel of "macfartlane" has a 5g tank conversion deal-i-o for around $500 not including the seat.

Seems a little steep for a couple of extra gallons... but if moneys no object I guess it's ok.

Was just wondering if there were any easier ways but I guess if there were everyone would have done it by now.

I have now seen a F2 tank on a hawk and was wondering what it takes to fit that tank on to a Hawk?

I do have some metal skills and could get my hands on a welder or take it to one if needed....

        Anyone....

Over on the listserv, a guy by the name of Milktree wants to get rid of a (pretty damn rare) carbon-fibre Kiyo Watanabe tank. Completely plug-and-play, specifically designed for the Hawk. Wish I had the $700 to put down on it. http://mahonkin.com/ebay/Kiyo_Watanabe_CF_tank/

Me? I'm gonna go down the street to Indian Larry's Legacy (the old Gasoline Alley) and see if they'll cut my tank in half and weld in new panels to make it taller. Greg Dunn had this done (but, out in CO I think, not Brooklyn) and it looked fricken' awesome.

Nice but a little too $$ for me as well. Thanks for the link. Looks cool and nothing like being able to drop carbon fiber around the old water cooler to make you feel cool, but $700 for a tank would get me in some trouble with the accountant/wife.

I just posted a thumbnail sketch of a how-to for my F2 tank and Monster seat mods. My tank mounting was reliant on the new seat, but it can be done using the same principles if you're keeping the stock tail.

              Check it out here
