I replaced mine via wemoto (first class company)
If I think back it cost about £100
two extra on the back no change to the front and a new chain.
I got my local mechanic to swap things over when he put my VFR wheel on.

I replaced mine this summer with a Sum of All Parts 520 conversion. I went with 16 tooth front and 46 tooth rear. It is a little quicker off of the line and a bit buzzy on the free way. The kit was $140ish shipped. It is really easy to replace (about 2 hours if you are finicky, like myself).

I also used a sum of all parts 520. I got a 16 front and 47 rear. Also around 140ish. Great kit and took me about 3 hours because I had to hunt down a chain breaker.

The front sprocket is steel and the rear is the Vortex aluminum. I have heard that the aluminum is too soft and will wear out quicker, but after about 4000k it still looks good. As for the hunting down a chain breaker, all you need is a angle grinder to take off the flat head of the rivet, then just push the pin through.

Hord will get you what you need. www.hordpower.com

I'll be ordering a chain and either 16/43 or 16/42 sprockets through him this winter, myself.

                      Doc:
                      A steel 520 or 525?
I custom made a 42T 520 7075 aluminum one only because I couldn't find a steel one, or even a 520 steel sprocket blank. Anyone know where to get such a beast?

I replaced my seemingly original 525 chain and sprockets at 14,000 miles with a DID o ring and a set of JT sprockets. I did 16/43. Stock is 16/44 I believe, so this is a bit taller gearing.

The front sprocket looked almost unworn, which was strange because the rear took a lot more abuse. The chain itself had stretched more than a full tooth longer than new.

As far as breaking links, I just used an angle grinder and tapped the pins out. It takes some doing, but works. To put the riveted link in I just cut the end off a tapered-end bolt and pressed it into the rivet end of the link with a c clamp. It smashed it out nicely.

Yeah after about a day of searching for a breaker i used a grinder and a punch. A little of a pain, but it worked.
