      Rick -

I'm pondering which direction I want to go.

      It is still active.

Nah. General consensus was people wanted to pay $30-40 a unit. I found a hammer and smashed my thumb for fun instead.

Reviving old topic. I ended up buying an adjustable stand from ebay. Does the job for display/work but not sure it'll be strong enough to ship a motor with... Here's some pics and a link to the product on ebay:

Nice find. Personally for shipping, The way Pinwall shipped my Bandit 1200 motor was sweet. A heavyweight cardboard box screwed to a wooden pallet with plastic fender washers . A big heavy mil containment liner bag and a two part clam expanding foam kit around the motor. ( fill a to fit the box perfectly) strapping tape sealed and the box banded to pallet. Plastic bands IIRC it had a packing invoice on the outside that said, Motorcycle parts. Actually come to think of it, I bought two front rotors a alternator and a windscreen off the same bike.

An engine stand is the perfect project for anyone .Build it out of anything....plywood/plastic/metal.........I bet a Border Collie could design one.

I ended up building one out of 2x4 for my spare NC35 motor but then again, that motor was a bit easier to make the stand for. I might have to do what Bart described if I ever sell the spare Hawk motor (700cc, 153 cams, JD stage 1 heads). I just received my new JD motor (billet crank, stage 2, cams, carillos, undercut gears)!
