So I took my monster in for its' 600 mile service. That's NOT a typo, really, 600 mile service. I believe what happens with this service is an oil change, retorque of all critical bolts, cam belt tension check, and a "test" ride. Cost: $150~$200 depending on if they find other things to change out. LOL!
These are all things that can easily be done at home for $30, but I definitely want a service history to be logged in with Ducati North America (or else the manufacturer's warranty may get voided).
Since the only shop in my area that had an open slot today was BHDucati... Beverly Hills Ducati
, this was open season on my wallet.
Beverly Hills Ducati have a very nice sales staff - moreso than your ordinary sales people, have a very clean shop, have so much custom work on display, I dunno - it all makes you want to spend more money.
So the nice sales people see my totally stock monster and start suggesting a few things to make the ride more enjoyable.
Evoluzione Clutch slave cylinder, brushed aluminum + install: $200
CRG clutch side adjustable lever: $95
Now at this point they got me on the clutch, and then suggested that I match it for the brake side...
CRG adjustable brake lever: $95
Emisions canister removal: 1/2 hr shop time
14 tooth front sprocket: $30 + shop time
I can't wait to see the bill when I get it back on Friday...
I feel ill.
