Wow, that's terrible to hear. Sorry about your wife's ailing health.

About the bike, I'd say it's worth $3000-3500 with just the motor. Parts are hard to quantify. If I were you, I'd sell them individually. They'll be worth far far more.

Health issues are the worst. My thoughts are with your family.

I would have to agree with guys on Speedzilla, your bike's parts are worth more than the whole. It's more work shipping, but after seeing how much the last F2 fork and the Penske shock went for on Ebay I think the Hawkers would definitely set you up.

Best of luck with your family and your bike!

        SV,
As a nurse I have taken care of stroke patients. If you need to run anything by me, feel free.

As far as your bike, I recently asked what my racebike was worth on MABE Racings site.

We discussed that parting out the bike would net me a heck of alot more money than selling it outrite.

I agree that $3500 is not inappropriate (maybe even more) The problem is going to be inding someone who knows the mods and is willing to pay what your asking (I would pay it if I had the money).

If you are selling (and I hope you don't have to) Post up the ad with your contact info and I will spread the word and post it on sites that I know people will be interested.

Maybe ask Hord if he would post it on his site?

Thanks All .Ive already sold both Ducs 900ss and 996 I know part would net more cash but part of me would love to see her done. As with the Duc's I want it to stay in the family.

I'm assuming the bike is all street legal??

I bought a race hawk a couple of years ago with a lot of the same mods. puts out about 85hp at the rear wheel, but isn't street legal (and total loss ingnition). I paid about $4500 for the bike, but it's got about $6500 in the motor. $3500 of that was the billet crank. ti rods, ti valves, 700cc ported heads, flatslides, cams, Ohlins, cast iron rotors, LE F2 front end, Hiperform stuff, etc. etc. etc.

I bought another street bike for the wife for about $2800 with stock motor, TBR exhaust, 929 front end, VFR polished rear, and I added another Ohlins rear to it to make it work for her...

I might be interested in another street bike in the near future, but you should be able to get $3500 for it and maybe more if you find the right buyer. i'll ask around and see if anyone I know is interested if you decide to put it up for sale.

sorry to hear about the medical issues. I have one friend that lost an arm recently (hawk list guy mark Zack) and another really good friend (ducati lister) Charles "Bud" Turner that died this past week. not a good week for me. Here's hoping that lifes bring a few nice surprises soon!

I'm sorry to hear about your wife's stroke, SV.

That's a nicely set up Hawk, but I think that the List will agree, nobody's going to be willing to pay more than $3500 for a Hawk, no matter what's bolted to it. I know what you mean about seeing it complete, but I'm certain you'll take more of a hit selling it complete, than if you were to part it out. That motor alone could get you half the price of the bike... depending on mileage since the rebuild, I suppose.

All three bikes out the door, huh? Well if you're ever in NYC you're welcome to take mine out for a spin. I sincerely hope there's a new moto in the cards for you at some point in the future, bud.

Hawks like SVHunter's trade for more than $3500 all the time. Trouble is, even if you could get $5k for it, you are taking a kickin'. I say part it out. I'll help out however I can. I wish I could buy it... thinkin' about it but with the new shop I'm not exactly flush with cash right now. Throw it on the "company truck" back to Bucyrus (couldn't hurt to ask permission from the higher ups considering the situation) and I'd be willing to do the dirty work of parting it out. I also know somebody who is pretty serious about Hawks that might be interested... emailing him right now.
