Well if we're gonna get goofy, over on corner-carvers.com there's a guy that put a NASCAR chassis under a '69 Chevelle.
    '89 Hawk a.k.a. The RallyHawk (my son's now!) | '89 Hawk a.k.a. The Deuce | Spare Parts/Dented Learner Bike | '13 Tacoma | '69 Falcon (currently getting reassembled! )

I've spent most of my money on women, beer, cars and motorcycles. The rest of it I just wasted.

K swaps aren't goofy, you can easily have a Honda powered Toyota or Mazda that passes emissions, has AC...via bolt in kit. Honda is now garbage but the K motor is phenomenal.

Can't disagree with this. Every Honda I've driven/ridden made in the last 15 years has been underwhelming. Honda peaked somewhere around 95. My 90 Accord was an unbelievably good car and had materials and fit and finish like you don't find on $60k vehicles now.

My thought was that a Miata is 5k max, the hellcrate is 15k figure 5k to get it done.. for 25g what's more fun than that...

But if it doesn't fit that's an issue haha.
It could probably be made to fit if the engine bay and fenders were hacked and you didn't care about having a hood. I'm sure most people know that one of the reasons why LS swaps are so popular is because it's a pushrod motor. No big honking head, therefore a lower profile and smaller overall package (THE MOTOR, guys, come on). It's why the Vette can maintain such a low cowl, and why they still use transverse leaf springs, for packaging reasons.

I thought Id seen somewhere on the internet a Miata with a big block. Maybe not.

Speaking of engines that were half of a larger motor, my father had a 63 Pontiac Tempest with a 4-cylinder engine that was half of a 389 V-8. It had independent rear suspension and flexible cable for a drive shaft. Interesting car.

They definitely have some wizardy in their suspension design, though. What else but dark magic could make a suspension simultaneously harsh and wallowy. Every Honda I've ever ridden in is like that.

Hahaha! My Pilot is harsh and wallowy. I just thought it was because it was an SUV! Last Honda car was a 94 Prelude, the suspension on that one seemed pretty good to me.

Are the Miata and the 3rd gen rx7 on the same platform?
