Personally I would spray the subframe in a color similar to OEM (I think someone on the forum had found a very close match, SPA might have the link) or in black. IMO you want some sort of contrast.
    '89 Hawk a.k.a. The RallyHawk (my son's now!) | '89 Hawk a.k.a. The Deuce | Spare Parts/Dented Learner Bike | '13 Tacoma | '69 Falcon (currently getting reassembled! )

I've spent most of my money on women, beer, cars and motorcycles. The rest of it I just wasted.

Root Beer with a center stripe of the color the BROS lettering is in.It'll look very Brit.

Dupli-Color DE1650 Cast Coat Aluminum per Socal Ken. I've used it myself and it's a good match.

Thanks for that, I have thinking about repainting my subframe; and maybe black, or just the side grab bars black.

On the subject of paint.....is that also a good match for engine touch up. Lower front needs it.

Hmm, I've never put it up to the engine paint but in my mind the motor color is darker, closer to gunmetal. I'm sure someone has a code for that, maybe Hordpower?

won't the exhaust header tend to melt the bellypan at its closest point ?? heatwrap maybe ?

who makes that hugger/chainguard? I think you'd be better off with the contrast in colors between body and frame. I think gold/bronze looks nice against root beer, but that's me.

I have a bellypan which runs a lot nearer to the exhaust than this with no problem, I have used stick on heat shield on the inside of the bellypan, works a treat

My shaker can color was Krylon metallic Dull Aluminum #1403

Personally, I like there paint better than Dupli-Color*
                    ( * at least application wise )

I don't have the info handy at the moment but for Aluminum bright work I have always used a Krylon chrome (on the cap color). It's been good enough in the past with the plastic wheel covers on my 1989 240sx to have the tire guys scratch them up trying to pop the fake center caps off until they realized it was a plastic wheel cover and not aluminum wheels, lol. When I get home this evening I can check the product code. I've fallen into the habit lately of powder coating stuff so it's been a bit since I bought paint.
88 Blue Hawk GT - Under construction but rideable (guest approved)
89 BlackHawk 2.0 - On the lift and being assembled
90 Hawk GT (color as to yet be determined) - Still on the shelf in crates

2002 DL1000 V-Strom - Workhorse. beat it, flog it, it keeps on going...
