SEVERAL TIMES!! the worst was when I first got the bike and took it to my friends to show off. I tell them that it starts up with one turn and runs perfect, so as it cranks and cranks and me turning red, pumping the throttle and making excuses like, "this has never happened before".....my buddy reaches over and flips the switch. Now everytime I go riding with them, they kindly remind me to turn the bike on before we go.

Yeah don't feel bad this happens to me at least once a month. I usually see its the switch by about the second crank though. I'm half tempted to remove it.
90 Hawk. What can I do to make it better?
78 yz125. What can I do to destroy this thing?

That hasn't happened to me so far, but when I first got my bike I did accidentally try to start it in first! Learned that lesson pretty quick.

Did a couple weeks ago after rejetting the carbs. I pulled the carbs back off and checked them out. Ended up running the battery dead and got mad and went inside. Shortly after I decided to go back out to see if I had bumped the kill switch (never use it) and sure enough. Turned it on and the bike fired right up. (after the battery charged )

My two-year old like to sit on the tank and flick all the switches while making the "vrrrrrrrrm" sound after I get home on my bike...... It has happened at least a couple of times now that it mysteriously wont start right away .

It's very rare for me, but then I use the switch to turn the bike off everytime. It's usually if I'm sitting there getting ready to leave and I'm talking to someone I'll forget to turn it.

I used to use the kill switch all the time in UK but dont like to use it here because of the daylight light running thing.
In the UK you still have control over the lights (well when I left 3 years ago you did!!!), and you can ride around without any lights so using the kill switch but keeping the ign. switch on doesnt really waste the battery like it will here.

I always use the kill, so it's not really an issue... it's leaving it in neutral that used to get me! When I first started riding, I used to leave it in whatever gear I'd been in. I'd hit the starter and the bike would buck forward sharply of course. Leaving me looking like a dope...

I'm totally anal about leaving it in neutral now!

What I'd like to do, however, is get a remote starter! How sweet would that be?!
