  • Hytech Exhaust Header

Last year I contacted Hytech Exhaust to see if they would create a header system for the Hawk. I was hoping to surprise the forum with this once my Hawk was sent in, but I figure I'd do a bit of tease to see if it is something you all want to see where it goes.

Regardless of any interest, it is something I am still interested in pushing forward with for myself and my Hawk.

It may not be until sometime next year before I have a Hawk that I can lend to Hytech since I'll be moving by the end of this summer and I'd like to spend more time with the Hawk.

P.S. I fibbed on the Hawk's years of production - if you look at the time the email was sent, it may be a hint as to how that managed to occur (it was a bit after 4:20)

Price point? While I appreciate your enthusiasm, this bunch is shall we say... frugal.
Flock of Hawks | '13 Tacoma | '69 Falcon (currently getting reassembled!)
I've spent most of my money on women, beer, cars and motorcycles. The rest of it I just wasted.

I think it is sensible to be frugal and I am not primarily doing this for others to get in on the purchase. I'll be buying the 10 sets and sell a set if anyone is in need of a header. Consider this one of those, "this dude is wasting his money" sort of things, but I am curious if the forum would want to see posts regarding it. If there is enough interest, I may push it towards the end of this year for the Winter season, otherwise; I just want a sexy ass looking header setup with some anti-reversion chamber goodness and maybe see what a 700cc setup would look like with it

Even though I referenced a group purchase in the email, this is not intended to be a group buy.

Gotcha. What's the design for the muffler placement? Underslung, shorty behind the footpeg, long tube parallel with the cowl, left side exit? Inquiring minds want to know!

Another thing to consider is if it interferes with the aluminum Thermae radiators as one version is oversized. It looks like you already reserved two of them.

Well, hot dog, eyhonda I better put some chili on that thought because it certainly had not occurred to me. Thank you, I noted that.

69Falcon I was hoping for a left side exit if the Thermae radiator wont give it too much trouble - underslung shorty may be a last resort design.

Thanks again, eyhonda for that headsup!

I think you need a realistic assessment of how many Hawk owners will spend real money. Look at how long it took to get enough people to buy the well known, tried and tested M4 systems as a large enough buy to justify another run.

A short stainless collector for a stubby exhaust on the right would be a much easier target than a full system. I don’t like the way they look but everyone else does.

Or a short collector with a design that allows the use of whatever connecting pipe the owner wants to then have made (mid mount, high mount, etc), or just attach a stubby to the footpeg bracket.
"I couldn't afford NOT to buy it!"

I'm always pleasantly surprised as to how many people go in on group buys for quality stuff.

Shit those $2000+ wheels sold out.

If it's nice, and limited, they will come.

Any idea what it would cost? Is this a $400 thing or a $1400 thing?

My apologies if I have not been clear on this discussion, but this is not a group buy discussion. I am doing this for myself and my Hawk and, hopefully, future Hawks.

There may be an occasion I will sell a set or two, but I cannot confirm that as a fact. Again, this is me wasting money on myself

Say, are there any members around Irvine, California?

As far as price goes, for the curious, it is not able to be determined as of yet.

Here's the reply I received regarding the price:

Edit: I did some more thinking and decided to edit this post to state that, for the moment, I still do not intend for this to be a group buy, but I do want the system to be available for those that desire it.

So for now, consider this a project I am taking upon myself to see where it takes me. If you all are curious to see where this goes, I am more than willing to share the progress.

If this manifold is considered desirable among the members, I will definetly jump on finding out how to get a price that is considered reasonable, assuming it won't be outright.

I like these limited run things.

There are some AWESOME hawk parts out there that only have a few copies in existence. Every once in a while you see a hawk come up for sale with a bit of unobtanium on it and it's fun to see.

The WW subframes, the light wheels (what company was that again? Why do I want to say mavic the bike wheel company? I know it's not them.) The molded lines, the falcon (and who else did a run of those) cranks, the radiators and Brent's spacer kits come to mind.

It would be fun to see a dope exhaust added to that list.

Ah, was it Marchesini Wheels you were referring to?

Isn't Mavic a company that makes drones?

I've read about Segway jumping onboard producing electric motorcycles so I wouldn't be surprised to see a drone company make some "fly" wheels (no pun intended), if you know what I'm saying.

Could be. Sounds right. They where a run of ten and where like $2500/set. It was out of my league by. Along shot. I'll build an entire race bike for that, so I didn't pay too much attention.

I wait for the trickle down effect for shit like that. Some day, some how, a used set may make its way onto one of my bikes. I always miss the bus on light wheels. They are just so fucking expensive.

And ya, mavic may make drones idk haha. But they also deff make bicyle wheels. Have had many sets.

Good flying spaghetti monster, $2500 for a set? My goodness.

They better be sweet looking pieces to command that price!

Was that company the only option as far as lightweight wheels are concerned?
