  • How Many Original Owners Out There?

I was just wondering how many of the people on this site are the original owners of their Hawk(s)?
I purchased my Hawk brand new from LeBard and Underwood in La Habra, Calif.

Anyone else here buy their Hawks brand new?

Not I. I was 6 when the hawk came out but i always wonder how many people bought one new and never let it go.

Almost but not quite for me. I bought my 91 in 1992 with 3k miles on it. It was mostly stock except for a Targa fairing, Corbin seat, and some very thick foam grips.

Hahaha! Bones ... your post brought back some memories .... I was Aubrey LeBard’s Honda rep at the time and wholesaled the Hawk to him for the dealership. If you recall ... Aubrey was the rather large dude with a beard in a business suit (he was a college professor at that time). Aubreys dad., whose first name escapes me now, actually owned the dealership but didn’t like running the place and so he kept himself busy in the Service Department and let the educator oversee the dealership.

              Wow. What a small world.
I stopped by LeBard many times before finally pulling the trigger and picking up my Hawk.
If it hadn't been for you, there would not have been a Hawk there for me to purchase!
I was lucky enough to have racing royaly advize me on my choice of bikes being as I was working with one of Ed Kretz's sons at the time so we often went to different bike dealerships looking around before I bought.

How many miles on it now?

We should have an extra flair next to our username for being original owners.

Only 24K, we bought it a couple years before we had kids, which really cut into the wife’s riding time. She still loves it and doesn’t want anything newer. People are always surprised how old it is as the styling has aged well.

My nephew and Forum member, Keith (954rrider), just crossed 73,000 miles on the 2002 Honda CBR954RR that he bought new ... his home is in NY and is a “fair-weather” seasonal rider ... he intends to keep it forever and rack 7p the mileage.

                          We would get along.

929/954 imo along with the f4i are that absolute apex of Honda street/sport bikes. There are better bikes on the track, but for run (I meant fun, Freudian slip there) on the street they can't be beat.

                          He has my respect.

I bought my left over 88 new in late August 89 and still have it. I was reminded as I put my updated insurance card under the seat that I still keep the original owners manual there.

I believe BTT is also an original owner. He's had his slightly longer than I.
