  • Unobtainium Parts

What's on your dream list? What's cool as.of us may not know about? What's in the corner of your basement waiting on that Uber build?

    I want technomags..
I know by now they are old, maybe not so strong these days.. but dam are they cool.

Cush delete. Maybe not quite unobtainable, but rare and not cheap.. very cool.

Online shock.. are there better these days? Maybe.. but is there anything cooler looking to have in front of that rear wheel? No.

What's on your list of unobtainium parts you keep an eye out for in every posted parts stash ?

Moriwaki full titanium exhaust - those were sold in Germany in the 90's, but I didn't get one. They can be seen on various german builds. Maybe a MotoForza carbon tank and rear fairing...

A Hawk Connection subbie. I already have one, but it's bent and I need to have it fixed. I just love how light they are. So I get excited when I see one.

+1 on the wheels. Although not unobtainium, just a fuckton of money, a lightweight NC35 rear wheel on a corresponding hub is something I often daydream about. And of course a lightweight front wheel as well.

But the real unobtainium haul...a clean, blue tank and blue cowl with no broken tabs. The stuff of unicorns there.

Why is it I have the feeling this thread is not going to be good for my mental state...or bank account.

I had one. They where incredibly light. Like unrealisticly light. Chuck has/has one kicking around. They where the things dreams are made of. Drewster made himself a copy or if not a copy a hawk connection inspired round tube subframe.

They are all bent.... They crashed ok because they where small.. but race subframes crash a lot..

Forgot about them. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

If a fairing should be included, I always liked this one - I even wrote White House several years ago asking if it was still available. Not so much a fan of the wheel covers and the rear looks a bit heavy, but with NSR250SP MC28 wheels and a nice fork, that could be fun to have. foggybros.jpg

              I never knew that existed...

I like the rear. It's a cool looking package.

I would like an aluminum gas tank with maybe an extra gallon of gas that wasn't outrageously expensive, like maybe $5-600?

Yes, an aluminium tank would be nice...

My thoughts exactly... nothing wrong with a bunch of addict's talking about an itch that wasn't scratched. What could go wrong?

Now let me start searching for that Ti exhaust as my current system has some rust.

The proportions look right. I agree with you on the wheel covers. All I see is a Gilera CX 125.

Speaking of Gilera CX125 I always thought that it could be fun to fit that fork to a Hawk.. wheels can be modded several CX125 have reliefs cut in the disc portion of the wheels. Would be for fum only, of course, I don't see any real gains other than a 3.5"x17" front wheel.

I was daydreaming the other day wondering if a Hawk or Africa Twin engine would fit into a Norton Featherbed frame. Build a Horton.

I have to read up on the Gilera CX125 . Such an odd thing to put what must have been very expensive suspension on a 125.
