  • The IMS Motorcycle Shows are no more.

An era has come to a close. The powers that be have suspended all planned IMS Motorcycle Shows going forward. I always enjoyed meeting up with my fellow Hawk brethren at the show every year. Sadly, the show’s footprint shrank in its last few years here in NY, taking up less and less at the Jacob Javits Center. Daytona’s IMS venue also diminished in the time leading up to the Pandemic. Judging by the anemic showing by the Manufacturers at this years NY Auto Show, I’d say Javits may have more vacancies in the near future.

    Sad times we live in.

Welcome to Progressive IMS Outdoors, a motorcycle event series for all ages and riding abilities. Come enjoy demo rides or learn to ride, entertainment, shop and more.
    I need a bigger garage.

It's a dirty job but someone's got to do it.

It's kind of a bummer but it baffled me at the timing of some of them. Not to say we have crazy winters in Texas but when they had the ones in Dallas in mid to late January. Definitely not the best choice for a show that appeals to riding and showing off motorcycle products (demo rides and such).
88 Blue Hawk GT - Under construction but rideable (guest approved)
89 BlackHawk 2.0 - On the lift and being assembled
90 Hawk GT (color as to yet be determined) - Still on the shelf in crates

The NYC show was held in late winter, piss poor planning.
Flock of Hawks | '13 Tacoma | '69 Falcon (currently getting reassembled!)
I've spent most of my money on women, beer, cars and motorcycles. The rest of it I just wasted.

I went to a bunch back around the time my Hawk was new but I have not been to one in at least 10 years.

This is a bummer, I used to attend them pretty regularly, it was a good bit of entertainment during the winters.

That said, in recent years the shows have declined rapidly. Ducati dropped out, then other manufacturers followed. Many vendors slowly reduced or stopped brining inventory for sale. I guess the cost or sales model didn’t pan out.

I picked up some very nice riding jackets at the shows over the years.
Vendors always had some great sales during the shows.
