  • 1996 cbr 600 f3 tank on 400 bros

I know lots of people have asked similar questions to this but I'm looking to put a cbr 600 f3 tank on my bros pretty much because of how small the original tank is (10.8l) so I'm looking to install the cbr tank (18l) and I wanted to know just how extensive a mod is it, is it even worth doing for how much effort it'll take.
I really appreciate help with this I only started ringing my bros last year and don't have a super extensive knowledge when it comes to modding so any help from any experts would be appreciated .

ParcNHawk should be able to answer you, he’s done it in the past.

I did this a while ago. You need to move the front tank mount tab down and that's about it.

It's probably the easiest tank swap you can do.

That's said, the Revere tank fits the contours of the hawk frame like a glove, I also think it looks better and gives you some more thigh/knee purchase, but it's longer so the rear becomes the issue. You need to mod or make a subframe to mount it, and if you mod the stock one you need to deal with the seat.

69Falcon can show you the Revere tank.

This was my f2/f3 (same thing) tank hawk.

I forgot you did that one Andy. Here’s the Revere but like he said the rear mount is a hassle unless you do a custom subframe.

The back of the tank will interfere with the stock seat.

The front mount has to be extended (already mentioned)

The area where the rear facing air filter would fit is way too small and has to be adjusted by beating the metal.

                The stock petcock won't fit.

The hole for the petcock is in a less than ideal spot.

This is the F2 which I think is the same. Front mounts on top of the frame with a longer bolt. the back I made an alloy adapter. Seat needed a mod and re-cover and I used an aftermarket petcock from a Harley, I found the unit here. Pic's in my thread https://www.hawkgtforum.com/forum/ho...-s-88-restomod

Harley petcock and some heat and persuasion will get it to clear the head... That's right. Forgot about that.

That looks like mine and right has the fuel line point back towards the pump.

Maritime would you be able to give me measurements of the bracket you made for the mount at the back of the tank?

Probably, It's pretty crude- but functional and you can't see it when tank and seat are on. I'm away for work for a few days so will be this weekend the earliest I could get it.
