What modern unit do you use, and why do you love/hate it?

context: after way-too-long of nursing along a challenged Sena 20S, ParcNHawk is finally looking into replacement options...
    My pronouns are she/hers.

    To ride is to live.

There, and back again. (photos from the epic journey)

MrsJackal and I bought Shoei Neotec 2 helmets ~ 4 years ago; put the Sena SRL (modified 20S) in there. Our second attempt at comms - we had the Chatterbox FRS stuff ~ 20 years ago and she hated them. We have moved on with helmets - she has a nice Icon and I have an awful Schuberth C4 pro. Schuberth integrated comms are Sena 10 rebranded and the Icon unit is a 20S rebranded.

Have not ventured into the Cardo Pactalk arena. We don't do the whole multi-rider mesh dealio - I don't like talking (or listening) that much.

I have a Sena 30K. The build quality is no where near as good as the 10 (which was rock solid). The rain causes it to short and the gasket material at the connector is very brittle. The functionality is great and the sound quality is very good... just not in the rain.

If I wanted to talk to whomever, we would be in the car.

Last thing in the world I want is someone talking to me on the bike. If I need ya, I'll text.

I have a uclear that I bought from CycleGear years ago. Got my son the same one when he was learning to ride so I could give instructions on the road. His will sync to 4 units. I use mine primarily to sync to my phone to play music.

loved the price, it was relatively inexpensive at the time. Speakers Velcro into the helmet, and stay put. Each speaker also has a mic built in, so no extra bar by my face.

I've spent most of my money on women, beer, cars and motorcycles. The rest of it I just wasted.

I have my moments. When we’d go for a ride, I could point things out to help improve his situational awareness, get him in the habit of watching his surroundings and not just the road in front of him.
