  • Sucked back in....

    As some of you may remember, back in the day I rescued and rehabilitated several Hawks. After many years I decided to do more riding and less wrenching and swore off doing any more Hawks.

    I was quite content with only having the last one, although in the last few years I have looked at a few but they were all bigger projects than I wanted. And in Utah people tend to want way more money than bikes are worth.

    While perusing the local classifieds one of my old Hawks showed up for sale. It was my very first Hawk, and also my daughters first real bike after her V-Star 250. With only 800 miles added in the last 15 years and it still looks great.

    I now have two Hawks, although my daughter seems really excited to have "her" Hawk back....

    Then;

    Being able to ride from point A to Point B does not mean you have skills.

    Nice! Surprised someone would put a stock exhaust back on!
    Flock of Hawks | '13 Tacoma | '69 Falcon (currently getting reassembled!)
    I've spent most of my money on women, beer, cars and motorcycles. The rest of it I just wasted.

          Thank you
          The Hawks will never get very far, but there are some great landscapes nearby. As you know from VFRD, the vfr's, Multi, and Tracer get the long distance duty.
          Props to anyone touring on a Hawk, but several 350-500 mile days with a bit of triple digits is not the Hawks forte.
          Tracer left, TransAlp on order, so maybe those shots will be more appropriate here.

            Wow. That's clean ... amazing after all these years.

            I just hopped back into the Hawk scene as well after having moved on to VFRs, BMWs, and Ducati. Nothing quite matches the Hawk's front end feel -- more grins/horsepower than anything else I've ever ridden. I had my last Hawk until the end of 1997.

            Question: I have the same 2 Bros exhaust on my current Hawk build. Do you know/remember any details about this system (e.g., when they produced and sold it, looks to be a street version with the stepped headers. I had a race version with a left exit round aluminum can back in the early 90s.

                Either going back to the TBR, or a Fuel. The kid misses the sound
