69Falcon and i started building this bike for his daughter. Eventually he decided that if she where going to get her license we would build her somthing different and this one would go to daisy.
If it where available new, it got it new, if not it got the best we could find, rebuilt to the best of our availability.
it was originally white with a pink pearl and the same accent color in stripes and knee indents.
Now,
It's painted sonic blue pearl, a color off the 2021 civic SI that was pretty hard to find. My paint shop had to call into the paint dealer to get the mix because it wasn't in the computer yet.., but it looks dope, and it's accented with same Mopar Furious Fuchsia the last paint was..
It's a clean, mostly stock but very well built bike with the standard upgrades. Braided lines, ebc pads, through the swinger rear line, super trap brushed stainless exhaust, and all the other normal hawk mods and tricks. Some ww stuff on there like the vacuum pump mount. A battery box chuck and I designed and built.. I forget what else. All in all this was a multi year, multi stage build that's been through some versions and revisions.
It's just a nice clean stocker with some subtle upgrades and cool paint.
She started learning to ride it before she got sick, then when she got sick we threw the shock from the racebike in it so I could drive and she could at least ride on it.
BUT
This year it's looking like she is doing well enough to return to learning to ride again!!!!!!!!
Fingers crossed she may even ride it to the rally this summer (she doesn't quite know this is the plan yet)
Edit: yes... I'm going to continue to enter our bikes until we get it one month. Hehe
In May of 2016 I drove 5 hours round trip to get this ugly 89 with 13,957 miles. Paid 2700 for it.
Withing the first 100 miles I went through about everything and junked the gun cases and fairing. In In 2017 it got frame sliders and dual bulb rear turn signals, rebuilt the eccentric, new cush rubbers, Fuel slip on muffler and Hord serviced the forks with GVE and RT springs. In 2018 the miles were about 18100 and it got a used Corbin seat, WW tail tidy, Jet kit/Uni filters and the famous Kosman front wheel, added a new rotor and tire. At about 19300 miles it got the Penske 8900 rear shock from Hord. In 2019 at about 21400 it got a Thermae radiator and valves adjusted. In 2020 miles mileage was around 22600 and in 2021 it got a new chain at 26506 miles.
Today the odometer reads 26,794. I shined it up a little and took pictures in the garage. I’ve ridden it 12837 miles in 5.9 years while owning and riding multiple bikes and . This Friday it's going on a 200 mile day trip. Update: Friday 3/25 did 211 mile day on it so now has over 27,000 miles.
And finally rcthirty's rescued hawk in new gold livery from 69Falcon:

I included my exhaust pipes to be ceramic coated silver. Next I looked at the condition of the OEM parts and came up with a list to be ordered. I ordered as much as I could from HPR and then went to fleeBay and Amazon. My rear section was too damaged to fix so I ordered one from Fabian. I ordered a rear shock from YSS and a new exhaust from Delkevic. Chain, sprockets, and Dunlap tires came from a local cycle dealer.
While I was waiting for all of this I stripped the rear section and painted it silver. The fuel was pretty banged up so I tried my hand a bondo. The ignition switch was wasted along with the fuel cap. I ordered one of those china combos from ebay (which I had to modify to fit). Pressure washed the wheels and engine. Lubed the wheel Bearings. Flushed the forks and engine. Rewrapped the wiring harness and replaced some pins that had been cut. The brake master cylinders were toast so I completely rebuilt them including new eyelet. The calipers didn't look too bad so I flushed them and cleaned them up. New pads of course. Triple clamp got stripped and painted silver. Swingarm got cleaned and lubed plus new cush drive.
When I got the frame back I started the reassembly. Most went pretty well. Adjusted the valves and added all fluids. Replaced the battery with a Lithium Ion. Caswell sealed then painted the tank, front fender, and rear section a teal color. I order a stage 3 kit for the carbs and did away with the airbox. PXL_20220111_224608640.jpg
The instrument cluster was missing the white lettering so it got painted metallic gray. I added white paste to the indentations then cleared it. New 3d printed gauge seals from a forum member. Forgive me for not remembering his name. 31st pic reassembly - Copy.jpg
My finished bike came out like this finished=paint (8).jpg
Since then many of you know I bought the gold painter tank and fenders from 69Falcon. I added some electronic goodies like front GoPro and rear Sony cam. Exhaust wrap and finer carb tuning. Here's the end product. PXL_20220322_212224813.PORTRAIT.jpg
Super clean and one of a handful of Hawks still sporting the OE exhaust.
Thanks bones, but kind of sort of. The headers are stock but the muffler is a FUEL brand can and their Y connector pipe. I do like the setup and won't put stock back on ever. Not quite as loud as a Super Trapp full setup on my blue Hawk..
