I think this might have been the 3rd time I entered RED. So for those that lost, you are not losers, just keep riding/modding and loving your Hawk and put it up for voting again. Thanks to all members who voted or just looked.
First time for everything. In my 60 years of riding I plugged a tire on this Hawk last Sunday. I uncovered RED and was going for a ride on my favorite 40 mile twisty road loop. I always check the air in the tires after it has set for a couple weeks or more. Found rear tire was flat (Expletive goes here). I find a staple in the tread. I have a very small air compressor kit I setup to include a plug kit. I sometimes take it on my day long rides. The plugs have what looks like a pointed copper end and twisted gooey twine attached. The plug is inserted into the handle metal shaft leaving just the metal pointy end sticking out. I then pushed the shaft it into the hole left by the staple and when I removed it the plug stayed in the tire. I trimmed the twine sticking out about flush with tire. Aired up the tire and spit on the plug and saw not bubble. Went for my favorite ride a little caseous but took the compressor/plug kit with me (for insurance I guess). Stopped and kicked the tire and it seemed fine. Pushed my Hawk to my normal pace and enjoyed the ride. Checked the air pressure once home and it had not leaked any. A good day.Bill,

Thanks jspeed53
When I finally got around to putting on the Kossman wheel it was already polished on the rim with stock color still on the spokes. Figured I would mask off the rear wheel and use paint remover on the rim and once you get the paint off, polishing it is not a lot of work compared to removing paint. They then looked like a matched set.
I actually did the rim polishing on my new Honda Rebel 1100 DCT which has way too much black (ugly bike) but at least it's fun.
